The wife is riding with me more now and talking to each other is a problem. I have been looking at the SMH-10 system and think that it sounds like what we need.
The problem is my wife wears a 3/4 helmet and I wear a FF. Can you buy a dual kit with the right headset for each helmet?

When you have this system linked up to your iphones do you just talk and the other person hears you, or do you have to use the switches on the trike? I ride a Tri glide.

Is this a good system to use? Never having to use one I have no idea what is good or not.

From what I've heard you are looking at a great model. If you call your supplier you might be able to get 1 with a wired mic and 1 with a boom.I have an older Scala q2 pro and it came with 2 boom mics.I had to buy a wired mic extra and it was around $50 at the time. The booms work ok with ff but are right against your mouth. With mine there is no provision to operate anything off the bike and no need with its capabilities but the Sena will do alot more than mine.I did see the other day they have a new handlebar mounted gadget that works with smh-10 that allows some functions to be done there instead of reaching up to the unit on the helmet.I know this hasn't been much help but should get ya started.

my wife and I use Scarla G-9's both on the same trike and when we are both on our own. What don't you like about the TRI intercom system? I've used mine and had no issues with it. Just curious.

Wifey and I have the Sena for our 1/2 helmets. We use them for comms between us and mp3 music. We think they are great. Just check which model you need for your style helmet.

It isn't me but the wife being tethered to the trike is a dangerous situation. She would get off and not remember she has a cord attached and damaged the connector.

I figured the safest way to go is just Bluetooth it. Tech and my wife really don't go together.

I, too have been looking at the Sena SMH-10 system.
(Would love to get the new 20s system, but around $550 to talk to my wife 2 feet away from me is a bit extravagant.)
SMH-10 owners - how do they sound for music and voice? I have read reviews on some headsets that report the music sounds good but not voice, and vice versa. Also it seems that each headset can be bluetooth tethered to each other for communication, and be plugged in or tethered to separate phones, Mp3 players or GPS. Correct? My wife and I have some difference in music tastes, and separate opinions on appropriate volume. It would be great if we could talk on the intercom but listen to different devices when we play music.

I ordered the smh-10D-11 setup Wednesday morning. Priority shipping I hope it gets here Saturday morning. I will let you know how it is once I get it setup and we give it a ride to try out.

As I said, we are very satisfied with the intercom performance, loud and clear. And I run V&H shortshots, but I did double baffle them to quiet them down. Also the Sena improves the volume of the my mp3. I checked my Sena owners manual and from what I read, yes to your Bluetooth questions. Oh yeah, mine is the Smh 10.
