Belly Pan on a GL1800 trike

installed one on the wing when it was a 2 wheeler, its the vented model and it works great on the trike as well, I am sure I would never have made it up to alaska without it on the trike, no heat issues, can change the oil and filter and do not need to remove the cowl. They are definitely a must upgrade given hond allowing the antifreeze container hang out in the open, SHAME ON HONDA for doing that:yes:

Can the belly pan be fitted with the floorboards installed ?

Neither the floorboards nor the belly pan interfere with each other - I have both.

I just finished adding a Wing Stuff belly pan to my 05 Wing with 09 Motor Trike conversion with aqua shields. I had to remove the forward half of the aqua shield to get access to the 4 nuts, but after that the main body of the pan slid right in. My problem/question is with the forward part of the pan that protects the oil filter. The frame that supports the aqua shield will not allow that removable section to be attached. Is this common? will I have to modify that piece(I think it will severly weaken the part) to fit or with these particular wt bearing aqua shields will I just have to leave it off? Am I doing something wrong or missing something obvious.(it wouldn't be the first time). I would like to hear from Motor Trike owners with aqua shields. Thanks ..Alan

Can anyone tell me if I have to drop or remove my 2011 CSC Cobra running boards to install the stainless steel vented belly pan on my 2009 goldwing ? Would like to have one on the trike, but will I have to take it to an installer to have this done ?<br />

I have one but it is not vented. I do have to endure quite a bit wind with it moving me all over the road if a gust of wind blows up. But I would not ride without it at some point in time I will get the vented one. I should have told the dealer that I wanted the vented one when I bought the bike and had alot of goodies installed before I rode it home but lessen learned.

I love the peace of mind with the belly pan on and looked under it after about 2000 miles on it and it sure looked beat up but the bike is OK and I have not noticed any issues with heat from it I have put 10,010 miles on it since July 1st and not a problem.

My Belly Pan was tore in half, but it did it's job. It kept everything in place.
I replaced it with a new and we're good to go.

Mine paid for itself (2 wheeler) within a week of installing! Tree branch, about 3" in diameter fell right in front of me. FELT it thump HARD underneath the bike. Nice scratch on belly pan just in front of the coolant bottle, and NO OTHER DAMAGE WHATSOEVER !!!!<br />
Got lucky with the wheels/tires, but am certain that log woulda taken the coolant bottle completely off.<br />

Especially the louvered style. (Wingstuff) Louvres are 'punched' into the steel leaving razor like edges. Run a file around all edges to round them off. I wore soft 'garden' gloves which were summarily shredded by the time I was done. Have read of guys having to get stitches!!! In my opinion, belly pans should be OEM on the GoldWing.

I have a question. The Tulsa style has slots and the vented one has a hole. Can a person cut the hole where it would be like the slot and make it easier to install, or would that be a bad thing to do. I have a new Goldwing and I am going to put a belly pan on but just don't know which one would be the easiest to put on.

</div>Slots are easier, holes are more secure. Take your choice. I chose holes. Ones with slots don't seem to be falling off left and right.<br />

Mine is totally unvented, and I haven't noticed any heat issues.
