I have only recently joined here, have already determined you to be a bad influence.

Came on thinking , it's probably just another bunch of chrome polishers : WRONG

My thought process to get back riding again after rehab from a stroke was , not really a plan ,

just sort of do I really wanna ??

Today I started digging around closets and boxes looking for what ever gear I have left after giving so much stuff away. Found a good pair of boots, a couple sets of gloves, an out of date helmet , and a tank bag .

Got a line on a 2002 Goldwing/CSC 34k miles , have a contact at that store, will try and get a test ride this week if it stops raining.

Then it will be a trip to the HD store and see what they have on offer ( used)

So I start the conversation with SWMBO ;

Riding was my only hobby, have been thinking about getting back on again , but will need three wheels,

( she has that look already) are you sure about this, with your bad back , medications etc.??

Then out of the blue she asks what I plan to spend , and how about a rental before I make any final decisions ?

I count this as a big win in my column , so as I said ya'll are a bunch of bad influence types :clapping:

Hi Douglas. Glad we could be a bad influence in a good way. You have the desire and if you are able sure hope you get back in the wind. Nothing like that to perk you right up. Good luck with finding the perfect ride and many miles of smiles.

Your wife's idea is not a bad one! See if you can rent a Goldwing with a IRS and then ride the Tri Glide. Spend sometime riding each to get a good idea of what you need for your injuries as far as comfort. That is what will make or break your riding experience for you and your health.

Good luck

That desire to get back in the wind is a powerful force!

The only brand that rents trikes is Harley, as far as I know.

IF your local Honda dealer has a GW conversion on their floor, they might let you test ride one on a short ride.

Not a big fan of the reverse trikes myself, but there are a couple of CanAm's now as well as the Polaris Slingshot that are easier to ride than a 2 wheeler. Those dealers will likely be eager to let you test one, as they aren't as quick sellers as the HD trikes.

Best of luck to you in your recovery and search for your new ride...:clapping:

I'm not a fan of those reverse trikes either . Some folks love them , but I just don't care for the look.

But then I thought all three ( two ex , one still on probation) of my wives were good looking .

It's Lewisville, NC. 11 miles west of Winston Salem, 90 miles north of Charlotte.

A not so wide spot in the road, no fast food joint's , some gas stations , a few banks, the largest building in town is the library, It's debt free . Roughly 15k residents, still some farms around but the town is growing so much we have had to get involved with the county and are building a new grade/ middle school complex. Go to the end of my street , turn left start watching out for tractors, cows, horses and chickens.

Tried to set up a test ride on a Goldwing / three wheeler today, they flat out said no . I could buy it if I wanted too, but no test ride. NEXT !!

May go to the HD store tomorrow, but my back and legs are not doing well again so maybe not.

Every time I think I'm over the hump and can do something I truly love ( riding) I suffer some sort of discouraging set back AARRGGHH !!!

I'll never stop trying though.:D
