Bad dealer experience turned good....

Had batwing reach bars installed on the Tri-Glide by my local dealer (I'm not able to do that kinda stuff anymore), and when I got home after a long way home test ride, where I got sprinkled on, I got out the detail spray and microfiber to wipe down the water spots. Ran my hand with the rag down the left side of the fairing and felt a big bump behind the left spot....Yep, the tech got the fairing screws mixed up and put the long one in the wrong spot....

Rode back to the dealer and got the manager and pointed it out, he apologized 4 or 5 times and said no problem, we will make it right by buying and installing a new outer fairing for you. The only issue is that the bike is an Anniversary model, and, of course, they will not have a fairing already painted and sitting on the shelf, so it will likely take 6-8 weeks to get it.....

I did Auto body work for all my adult life, and am well aware that sometimes shit just happens. The dealer is making it right, and didn't hem/haw, try to get me to go to a body/paint shop, etc. so all in all, I am satisfied with the way they handled it.

YMMV

Glad the dealer is stepping up and fixing the error. Sucks but would suck worse if they tried to side step it. H-D should have figured out that having two different length screws was a disaster waiting to happen. Bad juju and poor engineering imo.
