Apparently, I joined this site earlier but don't remember. I am old man on a slow march to the third circle of hell. Got disabled early on. Everything I was gonna do in retirement went away. Had never ridden a trike.
So with all that knowledge, I built a VW trike, as they are the easiest, but way not the best. Wife and I rode 50,000 miles while I was building number next: Used a ford focus front wheel drive w auto trans to be the rear wheels on new trike. Rode it 80,000 miles in all but 4 states plus Canada and once by mistake into Mexico.
Built the next using a 2015 Mazda. Money pit and had to scrap it. God and his kid together could not have made the auto trans shift correctly. Too much stuff from the car not there.
Got more disabled and if I can't ride with my butt near dragging the ground, well... Built next trike back to using ford focus again. Way cool. I put a 10 inch lift on the drivers seat to get me up and out of the thing. Is my last build. Skills are diminishing and brain going to mush.
