Earlier this year i had a Avon trike tire installed on my trike and ever since it has had a high pitched buzz in the bike, nothing to hear just a feel.So as a test i installed a buddies take off wheel assembly and it went away,so i contacted the HD shop that installed it they removed it and returned it to Avon for testing and just got word that they are sending a new one. So must have been something wrong with it,this is the first time in my 48 years of riding that i have ever got a bad motorcycle tire but hats off to Avon for making it right.

I just put an Avon front trike tire on my 2018 TG and it's making that same "buzzing" feel you described. Just got done with a 3,500 mile trip to Tennessee and I figured it was just the different tread pattern. May have to have mine looked at too.

Hats off to your dealer for believing you and going to the extra mile to investigate and pursue this matter.

Had a bad Dunlop rear tire several years ago. I knew it from the moment I pulled out of the dealership driveway. Went back and they asked me to ride it a while 'just to make sure.' Did so but still did not feel right so went back and had them check. Tech said it was just barely below the limit for out of roundness and the GM refused to replace it saying H-D would not reimburse him. So I had to buy another new tire but fortunately the service manager was a good guy and made it up to me later on when I had some work done on the bike.

Had my Avon trike tire now for over 10k miles and no problem at all so hopefully the new one you get will the OK.

Even Bently has an occasional "Issue" ... the main thing is how they deal with them ... good to know Avon is making it right ... I see new tires in my future .. like this winter ... :D

I'm guessing it's the trike specific front tire. Sorry to hear you had trouble, but glad they are doing the right thing. Avon is supposed to have a 2 year warranty.

I have a regular Avon front tire to install on my Freewheeler next year. I hope its good.

Keep us posted on the new 1. You have more trouble than anyone else I know of regarding HD. It's got to be frustrating.

My patience is as thin a rice paper with this bike lol.

I like it

Have the new Avon Trike tire and am very pleased with it. Feels stable in the hard corners and rolls straight as can be. Looking at the tread depth, I believe it will last a very long time with my type of riding.

I agree. The funky tread pattern was offputting to me but heck I figured Avon knew what they were doing. No complaints about the performance of the tire and I've ridden it at high speed (well high for me, 80 mph or so, lol) and in frog choking rain and in the twisties. Nary a problem in any of those circumstances.

Revzilla has issued me a Warranty Return Authorization and a Shipment Label to send back the Cobra Chrome Trike Tire that I bought in late Feburary and mounted in June. It also transmits the same buzzing vibrations through the bars at speeds 55-60 mph. BTW the Date Code on my tire is 4418.

They issued me an immediate ZillaCash credit of $35 to cover a portion of my inspection cost and said an instant ZillaCash refund for the full purchase price will be credited to my account upon receipt of the tire. I plan to ask if I can receive the refund via Gift Card, as I would now rather buy the replace Avon Trike Tire from a Cycle Gear Store.;)

I love Revzilla and have and do buy lots of stuff from them. Their customer service / return policy is easy peasy. In the past I have purchased tires from them and never had any problem. But after reflecting on problems I've had with Dunlop tires and you guys have had with the Avons I think I'll stick with getting tires from my dealer. Adding a third party in the mix when you have (or think you have) a defect will surely complicate things . . . and get expensive as I'm sure most dealers and indys wouldn't dismount the tire for free since you didn't purchase from them.

I like my Avon trike tire as well..let's see how long it lasts..............

I'm not crazy rider, speed limit type only..... BUT I ride both highway and regular roads, I guess well will seeeeeeee

The buzzing @ 55-60 issue aside, I actually love the Cobra Chrome Trike Tire. I've put over 4K on this tire and I'm more than pleased with its handling and cornering, its surefootness in wet weather and overall comfort for long distance riding. I'll definitely replace this one with another Cobra Chrome Trike Tire...hopefully, no buzzing.

You nailed it! Add to that mix the fact I'm not close to any dealers or indy shops. But I'm not upset with Revzilla or Avon. I knew the risks and possible extra cost if a warranty issue occurred for an online purchase. I now prefer to take the 2 hour ride to Cycle Gear, because they can handle the inspection, dismount for Warranty and remount of replacement, most likely no additional cost to me.
