I would highly reccomend Adventure Trikes in Dothan AL. What Randy doesn't know right off the bat, he knows where to find the info for you.

When I first went shopping for a trike, I thought that I just had to have running boards. I bought my first one used without them, sold it in a weak moment and shortly thereafter went shopping again. My present trike has them and I am not the fan that I once was. They make mounting and dismounting more of a chore. They also increase the time and effort it takes to clean and service it. The only (minor) advantage could be that they deflect a little moisture from the road surface; however they are no better than a good pair of water repellent boots. The boards cost a lot and are heavy as well. Just my opinion after going both ways... I would not buy them again.

Ben I concur with your statement. They look real nice but operationally I think they are a hindrance.

I could probably help with fiberglass for the aqua sheilds you would need a welder/fabricator to build a frame

I was going back & forth on the Aqua Shields also. I did put them on and don't regret it, they finish the trike off real nice and they are a big help in bad weather. Bottom line is you will have to make the choice yourself.
