Anyone use this lift???

Didn't want to hijack Scribe5's post. Has anyone ever used this lift for raising their trike? Harley Davidson Lift Triumph Rocket 3 1800 Gold Wing Big Blue Cruiser Lift It supposedly clamps to the frame & will not tilt if you remove wheels. No hydraulics to leak down, uses a screw drive. I have spoken with the USA distributer & he assures me it will lift a GoldWing Trike. Sent me a pic of one on the lift. Just wondering if anyone on here has seen/used one on a trike.

Did they say what the capacity was? Figure a GW trike is going to be in the 1,400 - 1,600 lb range depending on how much stuff is bolted on and stored in the trunk.

Not a hijack---I'm still looking for the best solution for me. This looks interesting, although maybe a bit wobbly. If you get more info, please post. Thanks for the headsup.

The mfgr says 1650 lbs capacity. Also claims it is "rock solid". There is a guy over on the VRCC board that has one, but he is using it for a Valk two wheeler. Waiting to see what he has to say about stability.

I have to agree with the geometry especially when you have to take into consideration weight shift . When you work on your trike and you have it upon a lift like that whats it going to do when you remove a rear wheel or wheels. How about when you rebuild the forks and have them and the front wheel off. I wouldnt feel comfortable at all working with something like that. If you need to get yours that high get a table lift for trikes those are the safest.

Man after looking at the pictures. It scares the dog doo doo out of me. My bike won't be on there for sure. Its scary just to see a bike on there. let alone a Trike :xzqxz:. NO WAY NO HOW!

Typical HF crap. Every time I go in their store I come out barfing. I would never put my trike on that, especially if I was going to work under it.

Thanks all for your comments. I understand & share your concerns about the stability of the lift, especially with a trike on it. I have a picture of a GL1500 Trike on one of the lifts, but it is not more than 3" off the ground in the picture. That proves it will lift it, not that it would be stable. That is why I would like to hear from someone who has used or seen one in use to lift a trike. Still haven't heard from the VRCC member in England who has one. The distributor told me he has sold units to trike owners. I will contact him tomorrow to see if he will put me in touch with some of them. I will not purchase one until/unless I hear from an owner/user of one that it is stable with a trike on it. RobertW, it is not HF, it is made in the UK & sold through one US distributor.
