Air Horns

Whats a good, loud horn that installs fairly easy on the 02-2010 GW1800? Looked at woolo and Rivco. Any short vids would be great.

Our trike had Rivcos on both sides, was too loud, scare the crap out of the co-rider when I hit them, spooked those nearby, eventually I removed the left side ones, just kept the right side ones, but am thinking I might put them back and add a switch to deactivate/activate the left side ones at will. Each pair has own compressor.

One set is Loud, two sets are LOUD! They also hold up well, the ones on the right were on it when we met the original owners at a mall show in 1997 when the trike was a bike still I see in this picture from Spring, '97, it was converted to a trike in 1998.

Seen 1 with Rivco on YouTube. 2 with stock horns stock OEM wired in with them and that was incredibly. Can't imagine 4 at once. Thanks for pics

My stock horns are present but not hooked up. The Rivcos also use their own relay with power from the battery but horn button trips the relay, fused of course. The covers on the front big ends keep bugs out I guess, don't seem to inhibit sound.

One day was leading a group ride, saw what must have been 100-150, maybe more, Geese near a pond in a huge field a good 1/4 mile off to our right, I hit the horn button, just a bump, still had both sets on it, them geese all in unison raised their heads as they craned their necks looking to greet the Grand Poohbah! Both groups loved it.

While I was waiting for my 2019 GL to be delivered, I put together a list of must have add-on's and an air horn was on top of the list based upon the puny peep-peep horn on my Tri-Glide; however, once I heard the GL's automotive quality horn I crossed air horn of the list.

My only complaint about the 2018-2019 GL1800 horn is the size and location of the puny horn button! I don't know if it's that I just don't have enough seat time, but it seems like I can never find the button in time to use it. As much as I like my DCT, I really-really miss being able to QUICKLY pull in the clutch and revving the engine to get attention of some guy/gal that thinks they is the only one on the road!

That's what I'm wanting as far as range or loudness. Every year 2-4 cars pull out in front of me. Now they're gonna get a blast. If they can't see a yellow trike they're damn sure gonna hear it

I owned a 2001 Valkyrie Interstate. Stock horn was wimpy. Added the Rivco air horns, and they saved my @ss a few times (almost had a semi run me off the road, I was in the left side lane on an interstate highway, but he heard the air horns). I had them for about 6 years, and the compressor went out.

So, headed to local Autozone and found a pair of 12v "highway blasters". Very loud (130dB+?), sounded like a 70's Impala highway yacht. No chrome to worry about either, placed them under the bike.

Horns that loud will get their attention alright, but they may freeze up, hit the brakes, and stop in front of you. I've heard of people being so startled, they nearly ran off the road, too! :xzqxz: But in this day of mega amp stereos and sub woofers, loud horns are a necessary protective device!
