5th gear problem

I have a 2005 Honda GL1800 trike. The bike has a problem with the transmission. It will not stay in 5th gear. When I shift into that gear it kicks out of gear and is not in any gear. What is the problem? and how is it repaired? HOW MUCH WILL IT COST TO FIX?

I'm not a Honda guy but it sounds like a bent shift fork. Ted
