Thinking of riding the trike down to Tucson in stead of trailering it. only thing is, I,m in a time crunch and need to put together 2 500 mile days. I,m sure some one here has done it but my longest has been only 350 miles.
Sure would be better to have the trike down there for 5 months vs. 3 months. have to get the RV down too and cant take them both at the same time. Gotta decide soon, times a wastin.

Go for it!!! My personal record is 1612 miles in 32 hrs. (on 2 wheels). I will be riding my trike from NY to Tucson for Thanksgiving and expect to do a couple of 500+ mile days. The wife is flying down. Never know when I decide to get a new record.

Forgot to mention. 1/2 a caffeine pill (100mg) is your friend every couple of hours if you start feeling tired.

Greyfang, Mike and I have several times ridden 500+ miles in a day. When the weather is dry and pleasant that is not a difficult distance in a day at all. When it is raining and/or cold, I find it much more uncomfortable!

2 500 mile days, piece of cake. Like Nana said its not as much fun when its raining or cold, but still doable.

Greyfang, John and I are happy to ride 'only' 500 miles in one day when we're on big trips. We routinely ride 750 - 900 miles in a single day because we usually just 'want to get there,' and have put together as many as 19 days at a stretch, each being over 500 miles. Yes, we're tired for a day or two afterwards, but it's worth every hour we spend on the trike. Could never have done that mileage on two wheels, but with three wheels it's not as difficult as you might think. I suggest you take increasingly longer trips before your planned departure date; kinda work up to it, and you'll see what I mean. Best of luck - enjoy the ride!!

Done that many times & frequently 2-up. Couple of things I found helped a lot: Start very early in the morning, even if it is cold, coz it'll warm up as the day goes. And you cover the 500mls well before dark & get a good nights sleep. Then start fresh & early the nxt day.
Secondly, stay away fm heavy-meaty lunches. Mid-day blues can be deadly. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
And it'll be a snap!! Have fun

500 miles in a day on a trike is nothing. On my coast-to-coast-to-coast trip this past summer I had several 600 plus mile days. I always started early after a hot bowl of oatmeal or grits and a stop at the local WalMart where I picked up a couple of their pre-made salads ($3.00 each) and a couple bottles of juices and milk as well as some fresh fruit (apples, oranges, etc). These were my lunch and road snacks. I had a small icebox with me that kept the foodstuffs chilled as well as a several bottles of water. Always had a cold bottle of water or soda in the handle bar caddie and made it a point to take at least a 10 minute break at each gas stop. Stretching the legs does wonders for getting the blood flowing out of your fanny and throughout the rest of the body. For lunch I usually found a shaded spot where I could take a 30 minute after meal nap which also did wonders for the body too.

Best wishes and prayers for a safe trip.

Our longest day (and night) ride was from above Durango, Colorado, to Killeen, Texas in about 20 hours, 980 miles. Yes, straight through, no stops except for gas and food, just fed the trike & kept on trikin' . . . Made Lubbock around 9PM, and was home 8.5 hours later.

Scalp Hunter did a fantastic job of gettin' us into our garage before the sun came up. (Dog met us out front under the mulberry tree as if he was waitin' for us.)
