First off I am not a Feuling rep and am receiving nothing for this review. My 2021 TrGlide with a M8 114 was adequate bone stock. Of course soon after I got it I added Khrome Werks slip ons with performer baffles and a DK naked 606 air cleaner with transformer external breather and catch can. Stage one with no tune seemed to give me a slight power boost and much crisper / better throttle.

Finally got out of warranty, did a bunch of research and at 27,400 miles had the following done by a Factory Trained HD Master Tech with 25 years experience. Parts - S&S aluminum intake manifold, Feuling 472 race cam chest kit ( solid pushrods, lifters, camplate, oil pump, 472 cam , all hardware and gaskets included), Feuling crank gear , S&S cam chain tensioner, Khrome Werks hide away header,DEI heat shield liner kit, Power Vision tuner, 3 HD heavier clutch springs. All work done at local dealer, then hand tuned as they can’t dyno a trike.

In one sentence , “ This ain’t a paw paw trike any more! “

The difference is amazing . I didn’t realize how choked the bike was until this was done A new level of performance was unlocked and it’s now sounding and running like I always envisioned . Currently I’m at 28900 miles so this is a 1500 mile review.

The bike has a great lope at start up and idle! . Feisty acceleration makes a growl like it should .&&It pulls all the way up to redline in every gear . In sixth gear at 2800 rpm I’m at 70mph and I can crack the throttle wide open and go from 70 to 100 effortlessly with or without a passenger. At present it hasn’t been run wide open to see the total speed available but it is like a whole different bike and will easily surpass 100 mph. Cruising at 85 on interstate is effortless. Gas mileage at normal highway speeds is 30 mpg.

Of course it’s now hard not to twist the grip more often ! Since I already have the Legends lift kit and Legends shocks all around and run a HD Hammock seat this set up is tracking straight and steady in all interstate traffic and speeds and is now cooler and much more comfortable to ride! This wasn’t a cheap project but it is worth every penny and sure as hell beats a note for a newer trike which wouldn’t ride anywhere like this one.

I don’t have access to a trike dyno but the tech has it tuned fantastic and it pulls pulls pulls!!!!

I had kicked around several cams prior to selection and this one was based on my riding, the fact I’m on a trike and do a lot of two up traveling, and the 25 yrs experience of the tech . I’m totally happy all around!

As a bonus , since we dropped the oil pan, cleaned it and put fresh oil in , then filled out the Feuling warranty, I have a 2 yr limited parts warranty from Feuling.

The best part is the clean crisp power and sound all through the RPM range putting a big grin on my face😎

Can you share cost of parts and labor? This sounds awesome.

First, I am a regular customer, and the tech/shop did me a solid on labor. Most techs would prefer to snip pushrods and put adjustables, which is easier. Solid pushrods came with the kit, and we used them which requires pulling tank/rocker boxes and a few extra things, but this tech likes the solids much more and I agreed. It pays to have the relationship with a dealer/tech/indy. Second these are the listed prices.

Like I stated before we were looking for bulletproof reliability and at 1500 miles I am quite happy with the build. :clapping: We did inspect everything as it was torn down and the tech was pleased with crank runout and minimal wear ( I do regular maintenance) on internal parts. Wear was consistent with M8 of my mileage.

I also have had the External breather and catch can since about 5 k , DK cooling wings, DK 1.5 deluxe tank lift and mighty mites fans that run when the bike is on.

This is what we did.

Glad you are happy. That sounds like a fun machine to ride now. Mine will be way milder… getting ready to just install new stainless headpipe from Fuelmoto and a PV3 with target tune. I already have a Ventilator A/C and S&S pipes so I hope it will run better just with this.

It will run better . I’d suggest running an external breather system to keep the hot air and oil from your breathers out your intake

Sounds like a good re-build. Mine was similar except we started by sending the bottom end up to Darkhorse and having them balance it out. I went with the T-Man 130ci kit, bigger cam, headers, and Drag Spec slip-ons. I didn't change my intake but did put on a larger box. It came off the dino at 110hp and 135 torque. It runs strong and is extremely fun to ride! I had it all done at Paducah Four Rivers Harley. They had just replaced their old dino so I know the numbers were tight.

My buddy had them do about the same build with his 107 Trike except he had a different cam, larger intake, and went with 2-into-1 exhaust. Plus since he tore up two previous trannys he had the Baker Grudge box tranny installed. His numbers on the dino were much higher than mine.

These M-8s are capable of much more HP/torque and they can still be almost 100% reliable. It just takes a little money.

Enjoy!

I did the same with my 2017, S&S 465 cam, Fulsac head pipe, S&S lifters and a TTS tuner with a full dyno tune. It now runs great and has a ton of low end torque.
