2018 Freewheeler exhaust question

I’m new to the forum and recently got a 2018 Freewheeler. When i bought it from the dealer I had Supertrapp stout slip-ons installed. Trike sounds great when giving throttle but too quiet all the rest of the time. Dealer tells me that to get the sound I want is going to cost $1500 to get it done. They say that it requires a new header pipe with cats removed, a tuner, and 6 hours on the dyno. So my question is..what’s the real deal? What can I do without spending that much. Remove the packing? Hollow out the cat? Any help would be appreciated.

Your gona get a lot of opinions on the question !

So I will start. Supertrap mufflers are are a great tuneable muff. A set of IED’s plunged into the O2 sensors will give more fuel to the system. Free Flo air cleaner, and if you want to remove the cat (Thers a thread on how to do) then that’s the cheep way.

Or , remove your own cat , use your existing mufflers , install a air cleaner , then ask the dealer what the charge is for a tuner and a dyno run . Personally I enjoy the quiet when cruising. Good luck.

When you do one thing ,It begets you to do another so it will run as good as it did before you needed the noise....Proceed cautiously.....:cxtv: $$$..

V&H Trike Deluxe Ovals

I got a 2012 Tri-Glide, it had 2,900 miles in 2018, someone traded it in on a 2018 Anv. model. The 103 really didn't have the sound and performance I wanted, and that the Cat was burning my leg. Did some research and found that in order to get the sound I wanted, I needed to change the Headers V&H Power Duals), and tail pipes (V&H Trike Deluxe Ovals)with that I needed the programmer (V&H FP3) and Stage 1 intake. Around $2500.

Installed it all myself and 3 days later took off for Sturgis. Total miles 3600. I was satisfied with performance and sound.

Yesterday I removed the glass from the tail pipes. Think I'm happy again.
