Been looking around at seats for my 2014 Tri-Glide and came across this. Looks pretty sweet...especially the extended armrests on the tour-pak backrest. Would like to hear some feedback on Corbin seats before pulling the trigger because this combo ain't cheap.

Jerry.. I have a Mustang seat, but have the Corbin Passenger backrest with extended arm rests for my BOB... ( Babe On Back ) and She loves it. Works great for her, so worth every $$ for me. I highly recommend anything that makes my BOB happy to jump behind me!! Corbin will add studs or stitching too... Just do it Man!!!

Corbin makes a good seat. They look very good. You have to understand up front that Corbins are very stiff. Part of their philosophy is that normal foam compresses to the point where you get hot spots from pelvic and tail bones. Which is true. A stiff seat addresses it well. I had a Corbin on my Triumph Rocket III and it worked pretty good, however, with a stiff seat you can't have a stiff suspension. My stock Rocket suspension was very stiff, which caused my Corbin to feel like I was riding on a plank of wood. I fixed that problem by spending another $400 on progressive 440s that were 1/2" longer than stock. Good shock, more travel, and the Corbin was back to good seat again.<br />

Moral of the story, if you feel the bumps now, they will be amplified by a Corbin seat.

Since you didn't ask about other seats as alternatives, I'll leave that part out. IMHO the Triglide suspension is too rough for a Corbin seat, but that's just me. Good luck!

You can discuss SEATS for EVER! and this forum has. My 2cents worth is:

If it feels good, looks good, and it will keep you comfy for hours on end! buy it.........:Coffee:

Me personally, I have a Good Reupholstery man down the road abit that does what I want in a seat.

I come out usually a hundred or so ahead of the game. He uses the Gel memory foam

and shapes to my big booty. Feels good for along time.

Yeah my BSR was eyeing those extended armrests. You are so right...when she is happy everybody is happy. :)

Thanks for the feedback.

Interesting point on the seat and ride stiffness. I really liked the Hammock seat I had on my 2011 CVO Road Glide Ultra. Problem is those seats had stitching issues and needed replacing after 2 years. Fortunately warranty handled that. Not thrilled about the longevity on the H-D products otherwise I would buy another. Just looking at options now because I'm not thrilled with the stock version.

Jerry, that Corbin backrest looks really good. I have the mustang backrest which also has longer armrests. You can always buy the Corbin backrest and have a seat custom made. There are companies that make custom seats who could do one for you that looks just like that backrest.

I have the Corbin seat, backrest and tour pac backrest with the extended arms on my 2009 Triglide. They are right the Corbin seat takes a little getting used to. They say 2000 mile breakin. That is about right. It is the most comfortable seat I have ever had. I was going to buy a Mustang seat, but I was told over the phone when I was trying to order one that Mustang in no shape or form going to make a seat for the Triglide. I am glad, I like my Corbin.

Corbin is top quality seats ! They are a bit firm, but they do break in. Not apart! They have been in business too long not to be one of the best on the market.

2000 mile break-in? That won't take long...probably a couple of weeks. :)

Thanks for the feedback Rod69.

Thanks Sloufoot. I don't mind spending the extra $$$ if it lasts. Shame the H-D Hammock has so many issues. It was by far the best seat I have owned.

Jerry, It is best to give them a call & talk over exactly what you want. They will build to your needs. Figure out what you don't like & like first .
