Found a nice low mileage 2011 Tri Glide but still thinking new (14/15). Anyone have a good comparison of the two? How does the ride and steering effort compare? Any other insight would be appreciated.

Thanks

Traded wife's '11 for a '14. She loves the new electronics. She said it does handle better and feels like has more power. We are on a trip through Arizona mow and she is loving it. I haven't ridden it much, so I can't feel a big difference.

Good luck and happy Shopping

I was in a similar situation as you, looking for a good deal on a used Tri. After much researching and reading evaluations, I went with a used 14 and paid the extra money. A lot of very high reviews from guys that had owned trikes in the past. Still have not got to ride it though as the Northeast got hammered this year.

I've ridden a 2015 but none of the older ones. My main concern is steering effort as my wife would be riding it some also. The 15 was not too bad but I'm afraid if the effort was any higher it would be difficult for her.
The 11 I found sold before I had a chance to look at it.

We traded our '11 TG last September on a new '15. Had 76k miles on the '11 and loved every minute.
We put on 4500 miles last fall on a trip to Daytona. Haven't had much of a chance to ride sinse then because of the bad winter. The new bike is great. More power, more electronic gadgets, better ride. Plan on doing a lot of riding this summer.

Had a 2011 put 40,000 + miles on it and really liked the bike. After planning on a Alaska road trip for this summer and calculating the tires, battery, brakes and other expenses I might incur in getting the bike ready I decided to trade for a 2015. No regrets. The 2015 steers and handles better and I think it's a smoother ride. I did a stage 1 on the 2011 but think the 2015 has as much get up and go stock as the 2011 had with the upgrades. Navigation system, and larger tour pack was also a plus. The 2011 had about 1 year of the extended warranty left on it but now I have the factory warranty which on a long trip felt was a real plus. Only have 1500 miles on the new one but very glad I made the choice.

I had an '11 and now have a '14. Below is a link to a thread where I've outlined a lot of the differences between the two.

I had 2011 Triglide, and I now have a 2014 Triglide. I spent a fortune on the 2011 to get a better ride (Legends air suspension & Zeppelin seat), reduce the intense heat on my right leg (replaced entire exhaust system), increase power (stage one kit).

The stock 2014 (it has a 1 1/4" rear suspension kit) rides MUCH better, my Wife and I couldn't be more pleased. No problem with oppressive right leg heat. All the power I could ask for.

I have been riding for over 50 years and this is the best motorcycle I'v had.

My only complaint is the GPS controls. It works, but is more complicated to operate than a Garmin, and has steps that are not necessary.

I hope this helps.
