2009 Triglide Clutch Problem

I'm having problems getting and keeping the clutch adjusted. This has been a on going problem for a few years, and getting worse. It's kind off hard to explain, but its got to the point that for it to work right I need to adjust it every time I ride it. I've had it in to an independent shop and they don't have any idea what to try next, other than start replacing every thing piece by piece. That will be expensive.
the trike has a Champion mechanical reverse in it also. All of the reading I've done about it hard to find neutral, mine has finally got to the point of needing to shut the motor off to get it in neutral. It has 45,000 miles on it now, new clutch plates and a heavier spring. I had them put in when I needed the motor rebuilt last fall.
Any one have any Ideas on what try next would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry for such a long winded question.

How much cable adjustment do you have left? I'm thinking that the cable maybe stretched to the point that there is not enough adjustment available to work. The other possibility might be an issue with the clutch lever ramp and ball bearings under the transmission door on the right side of the trike. I am assuming that you are adjusting the clutch pressure plate and the cable per the manual and it is not holding. Are you snugging the pressure plate adjuster lock nut down? Just some thoughts without being there.

Along with ball ramps check your push rod thru the transmission
I have seen a issue between the push rod and the part that gets modified by the mechanical reverse..I think its called the slinger.

Make sure that all looks good with no wear or rust..

A couple good suggestions, while inspecting things I'd also look at the throw out bearing to make sure it isn't bad.

Just took a quick peek at the Champion reverse install instructions, no modifications to the slinger, they do however have the rod replaced using the one supplied by Champion.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm leaning towards taking the reverse cover off and check it out. I kind of figured that as many times this has been adjusted, something would be worn out enough to where there would be no adjustment left.

They must have changed the slinger as I remember my older Champion reverse I had to resize the slinger diameter.

Sounds like champion made some upgrades over the years.

I know my dad had issues with the pushrod to slinger area wearing out..
