2004 trike with 2 transmission

Good Evening, I have recently joined the forum and being a trike owner. I recently purchased a 2004 Glide trike.. I bought as it was automatic. I got a great deal on it but now Im finding that the great deal is going to cost me. The bike was orignally purchased as a converted trike and the previous owner had it converted to a automatic by a Walter Company. The problem is that the automatic conversion people took out the trike conversion on the back and put in a chevy automatic trans. The trans in bike stays in 5th and rear does the shifting. The problem is when the trike is started it sounds like it is going to have a baby trike right there. If in N gear sounds great. Has anyone ever seen or heard of the 2 transmissions. I have searched everywhere and contacted anyone that might know and no avail. The Walter company is no longer in business. unable to ride my 2 wheel and was hoping to continue riding with the wind. Thank you

Sounds like your in for a bumpy road. My best guess would be something in the automotive transmission is unhappy, or depending how they linked the 2 together it might be something as simple as a bad bearing. Finding someone to fix it is where your going to have a tough time. You might be able to find a good auto mechanic who also knows a thing or two about Harley's.

Well, sad as it seems, now you know why it was such a great deal.
