I'm thinking of a road trip this coming summer. I have two small chihuahuas that I would like to take with me (I will do short, short trips initially) on my Heritage Softail Lehmann trike. Looking opinions, insight from anyone who may travel or have traveled with their fur family.
What crates they have used, what to bring, safety issues, how many hours traveled in a day...
Anything that maybe be helpful
Thank you in advance.

I'm on my second Kuryaken Pet Palace. First the bad: Zippers on the main opening tend to break....they get used so much and have to make that u bend turn. I've repaired them myself. Also it has no internal frame work so it kind of sags when it gets older. It's rated for up to twenty pounds. The good: Plenty of pockets, external loops and straps, comes with water bowl, internal strap for harness( not included)stakes for off bike crate use and I think a rain cover but haven't seen it in long time. I get 5 years use out of these. I ride year round so it's used just about every day. Now for traveling....it's torture for a dog riding up under the hot sun so ride when the sun is at a low angle. This time of year I ride mostly all night. If your gonna let the dog stick it's head out the top hatch make sure it's harnessed in. I had one dog that convinced himself he was Airborne Rated and bailed. Yeah the bone head survived. Also I have Rex Spec goggles for them.
