since you guys have been very helpful so far, I have another question, how do I make my FM radio come in better? I live in the mountains and I can rarely get a station, even the ones that come in fine in my pickup truck dont come in on the bike, I checked the cable and the antenna and it all seems fine

I'm definitely not a radio expert but here are my 2 cents.
In believe FM is primarily line of sight. You might get some reflection off terrain. Your pickup truck probably has an antenna that is higher than that of the trike. AM will pick up at longer distances and does not require line of sight.

What antenna are you using? I use a shorter one and my reception is not the good but i expected that. If I put the factory long one on I get better reception.

Make sure you are using a radio antenna and not a CB antenna, they are marked as such at the bottom.

It's too much hassle trying to fool with the phone while riding, not to mention dangerous, so I ordered a Sony radio that uses the stock handlebar controls along with a sirius receiver, it should be here Monday. installation looks like its pretty straightforward
