I'll be doing a cam change soon and am curious about the benefits of upgrading to a gear drive system. What are the benefits and is it worth the effort to upgrade. I understand that it is advisable to do a crank run out test to make sure that the clearance of the gears is within specs.
I did the IMC conversion on my 2020TG a little over 2 years ago. I posted several photos of the conversion process on here so you should be able to search the site for them. I believe on of the threads was called "Bit the Bullet". The IMC unit had worked well for me and it gives a very...
I've heard some good things about the Max Cell 818H cam for my M8 114. I was just looking for input from anyone who has installed on and what their thoughts were. I'll be doing lifters and push rods at the same time.
I installed some 12" bars with no problems, I believe that 12" is as high as you can go without any clutch and front brake issues. I did 14" on another bike and had to replace those with longer hoses. There was no issue with the electronic throttle cable as HD put in enough slack for that to...
It's not a dumb question because it's being asked, but what is the issue with the M8 oil pump that makes people want to change them out. At 3k rpm mine is putting out 45psi and I have just under 13k miles on it. Also, what is the issue with the cam plate that is prompting a change out.
I'm sure this topic was discussed earlier but I have been away for a while. I'm in the market for a torque cam for my TG. I have a 2020 TG with the 114 M8 engine, stock air cleaner, gutted stock headpipe with V&H slip ons. Most of my riding is highway and my average cruise speed is 3500 RPM...
At the risk of starting a "what's the best oil" type of question, I'm looking for comments on a cam. I'd like to add a torque cam to my 2020TG. I'm looking for a cam that pulls in the low to mid RPM range around 2-4k RPM. Most of my riding is on highways. Currently my engine is stock...
This may have been discussed before. I understand the theory behind reversing a rear tire to mount it on the front. My question is what is the advantage of using a rear tire on the front. Could it be the different tread design which would put more rubber in contact with the road and therefore...
I also bought a catless head pipe from Wild Pig for $100 and didn't have to retune it or do any dyno work on it. The basic rule is that if you do anything after the engine you don't need to tune. If you do anything before or in the engine such as high flow air cleaner or cams that's where...

The OEM pipe is 31" in total length with 7 bends and a section that is flattened which is 10" long and only 1" OD. The new pipe that I had made is the same length with 2 bends and maintains it's round shape the entire length of the pipe.
On the mockup I couldn't find a 90* sweep so I...
When I changed to an IRS rear end I made a new crossover pipe with less bends and no flattened section like the OEM pipe. The problem I had was finding a muffler shop that had the small diameter pipe. I ended up at an auto parts store that carried premade muffler pipe pieces. I found a...
I bought a lift from Redline Engineering when I got my trike, I'm also too old to be rolling around on the floor. It's a model HD1500 and the lift capacity is 1500 lbs. I like it because the sides in the back that the rear wheels sit on can be removed. I built a work bench that is tall enough...
I did about 160 miles today and all I can say is WOW. What a smoother ride compared to the straight axle. I cranked in some extra preload on the OEM shocks and it made a difference in the lean out. Half way through the ride I stopped and cranked in some more preload and it made the lean out...
Got the body back on. Making a relocation bracket to move the tour pack back a few inches. Went for some more test ride, the unit is smooth riding. The only issue is the lean out. I'm still playing with the shock settings to find the happy medium between smooth ride and minimum lean out.
