Overnight security when trailering

Any

Oh I see. Staying in a 'NICE' place will keep the bike safe. Good luck with that.
I don’t worry about that anymore. If something happens I have insurance for that. I take my valuables in the hotel with me. If a thief steals my stuff I will rent a vehicle and go home and file a claim. Life is way too short to worry about this. You do the best you can to secure everything, go sleep and repeat as many time as life let’s you. Staying In shady parts of towns or “Hoods” will likely increase the chances of something happening versus staying at a “NICE” Hampton inn , Marriott or say Hyatt. Never a guarantee though.

When I trailered my trike to Canada last year I couldn’t conceal carry so that was not an option. My cheap Nelson. Rigg bike cover on the bike , I have a personal magnet alarm . You can also put one of these on your vehicle on the safety chain. If a thief gets a blaring shrieking alarm go off they will likely cease from trying to steal. Not a guarantee but odds are they will stop. Something like these is what I’m referring to.

If thieves are determined, nothing is going to stop them. I hide an Apple Air Tag on my trike. I don’t know instantly that the trike is moving but I will get an accurate GPS location that I can relay to the police. And if I get there before the police……..

I've read this entire thread and, IMO, if someone wants to steal a 1250 lb. trike, rolling "heavy" is about all that will stop them. That being said, I have contemplated fabricating a brake lock bar for the e-brake. That, in combination with my wheel lock and fork lock would deter most. If it's on a trailer, that along with my hitch lock, and siren would just make things that much more difficult. Personally, I could see worrying more about security with a 2 wheeler than with a fat ass, behemoth of a trike. 🤷‍♂️

Lots of excellent security tips here. Ditto all that. We do as much locking and "encumbering" as possible to slow down the evil thieves. High power battery powered grinder/cutter tools are your friends in your shop, and threats in hotel parking lots...

👉👉👉 For the Active Duty, Military Retireds, and some Federal GS Civilians out there, I'd suggest staying in overnight/temporary housing on base if available (harder to find these days). Won't be the most deeeluxeee accommodations, and likely NO Continental Breakfast, but the on-base option gets you out of the hotel/motel theft "target group," sad to say...

Also ditto the 👉👉👉 OPSEC (Operational Security) --- NO decals/stickers brand paint on enclosed trailers.

If you have a distinctive, purpose built, Ironhorse trailer like we do... well no 100% solution to that one stickers or not. But they do have a secure T-handle lock on back ramp, that also locks the flip top. We back it into tight. well lit places, and block it in w/ the tow vehicle whenever possible to at least limit access to thieves.
