Nice JT ... that came out really nice. I have seen that done before on a blacked out FW using Black Body Molding and it looked very cool. The extra added dimension really catches your eye

John…… Regardless of the chrome situation in Kazakhstan . You really need a Chrome luggage rack to go on top of the trunk. It would even the whole flow of the Trike out.

Just to add….. The luggage rack on my triglide is a necessity…It gives me a place to lay my leather jacket on when the engine is still hot… but most important it also serves as a grab handle to lift the cover up on the top box, and also lay down the cover slowly without it slamming down....

Brilliant rationalization and it would also prevent those damn hand and finger prints I'm always wiping off the lid. I may have to forgo my humanitarianism till a later date.

Opening and closing the lid without a rack on it as like opening and closing a refrigerator door without a handle… you’ll have enough fingerprints on it to convict you of murder..

Also JT Cobra makes a very classy, kinda minimalist trunk rack that is very tasty looking and pretty fairly priced.

The Cobra rack doesn’t appear to have provisions for additional lighting. Just something to consider if you may want that option later on.

I thought that the Cobra Rack would look great with the flow of your Trike. When I bought my FW the HD Trunk rack was already installed. If I had no rack the Cobra was my first choice. Very clean uncluttered look. Parts Giant is always my go to site.

I like the design of the Cobra rack with the turn up lip, gives me more confidence when strapping down cargo

What do you mean Crapped out ? top end, lower end ? You can buy a new short black from Harley, I looked for my slip from when I bought a new 114 short block could not find it, I think it was around $2000. = $2200. I got it from Ronnies HD on line, that was in 2020 they had good online discounts & there about 70 miles from me so I picked it up saved on shipping. & it comes with the original vin stamped on it, I had to send in my left side engine case, it was cracked anyways

Greetings Ladies and Gents ...

So I wanted to add something to the Luggage Rack mounted on my FW trunk. Something for "show". I looked at the HD offerings and several aftermarket pieces as well and they all looked like luggage (duh) but that's not the look I wanted. I was kinda looking for that throw back 50's style case with the straps on it that looked like it was mounted to the trunk of a 50's Porsche. I found this wooden box and the size was perfect. I sent it to my brother Jon in Ft Lauderdale with some rough ideas on what I wanted (he's a leather guy) He did this ... it's on the way to me and I'm super excited. I think it came out really awesome and I'll post pics when I put it on ... your input is always appreciated

Not today But, I mounted a scooter box on mine so I could put my Modulor Helmet in it wouldn't fit in trunk + it gives more room when I shop.
