Back of the Dragon and new brakes

Spent last week in Gary West Virginia riding the Back, Head and Claw of the Dragon. IMHO the back is more challenging than the tail. After we got home, I pulled the wheels to check the brakes, (I checked them before I left) and decided to change them. I'm sure alot of you know this, but for those who are hesitant to change their own brakes this may help you. Rear. After you remove the caliper and rotor, bolt the caliper back to the caliper mount. I use a 16mm spark plug socket between the back of the caliper and the frame to keep the caliper from sliding in. This makes it easy to remove the pads, apply pressure and turn the puck clockwise into the caliper and install new pads rather than trying to hold the caliper with one hand. It took me several brake changes before I figured this out. Hope it helps.

A lift really helps too.

Handlebars

Dale,

Not trying to hijack your thread :D

I see you use the KhromeWerks 2+2 handlebars and since I live in Randleman would like to know if we could meet sometime for me to look at them. Am debating changing but have not been able to see them installed on a Tri-Glide anywhere.

Thanks,

I live in Ramseur. Sure thing tell me when and where. How about tomorrow morning somewhere around Asheboro?

Meet

I am not real familiar with Ramseur. If you have a place to meet or maybe the Franklinville Diner mid morning tomorrow?

I can arrange most anything over the weekend, so want to meet on your schedule. Do have to drop the bike off Sunday before 4 so they can service it on Monday.

How about Franklinville Fire Dept at 11

We rode BOTD in Sep '22 and ventured into West Virginia a couple hundred miles. It was a wonderful ride with beautiful scenery. Stayed in "The Airplane Hanger" outside of Tazwell, which was very cool!
