What did you do to Your Tri-Glide Today?

Here's the video we made last week with the TG.

Went for a ride and Mary likes it! Been suggesting it to her for years.

She's been happy, and she's happy now. That's what's important.

Nice video Kev. I've had that filler on my last several bikes / trikes and I've never ever been able to install it with the stock screws. The Kury filler pad is a bit thicker than stock and the screws are too short to work with it easily. I purchased some slightly longer screws - forget just how long, lol. I even called Kury and discussed this with them but I can see they took no action to inform and suggest a bit longer screw.

Went for another long ride today, had to get gas 3 times. At one point heading home, we ran into my daughter, son in law, his bother and wife. I momentarily forgot my wife was on the back when I turned around and caught up with them. I might have "accidentally" put it on 2 wheels at one point. She was not happy. I hope at least the swelling on the side of my head goes down before I go back to work Tuesday. I do tend to ride a little different (more careful) when she's on the back than when I'm solo.

Went for a little putt today. Nice weather, high was 75*. :D

Got back and did an oil change and cleaned the permanent filter.

Decided to change out my 828 air cleaner cover...both Mary and I like the chrome cover better than the black one I've been running. Thought I had one here....could not find it. Will look again tomorrow, if it is not here it is at the shop and I'll bring it home and get it on there this week.

Will finish my multi-point inspection later this week. Getting ready for some fun summer riding!

Finally got the Kury filler pad put on after the tour pack relocation kit was installed, no more exposed wires. If any one does this the longer screws to use are 10-24 by 3/4". I got them at Ace hardware, 12 cents each.

Checked all the fluids, checked torque on rear wheels, checked tire pressure, washed and waxed it. Heading out next Friday for a 3 day trip with my buddies. Oh and washed my trailer and check the tire pressure on it and plugged it into the trike to make sure all the lights were working properly.

Finished up on my decatted headpipe ordeal. Started last week, lol, everything was coming apart pretty much as expected, until I got to the o2 rear sensor. I looked at it, wasn’t in all the way, could spin the washer with my finger. Put a line wrench on it, couldn’t tighten it, got a half turn out before it locked up. Tried working it, nope so I just muscled it out. Threads on the sensor were shot, ran a tap thru the pipe not so good. Called Smoky Mtn hd, said they had a sensor, went on down. Brought the pipe and the sensor, warrantied the sensor, gave me a 131 header pipe. Thought that was pretty good until I got home and did some research on the pipe. Nowhere in hd listing of the 131 kit does it say high flow pipe, but a thread over on the hd forums had an actual report the 131 pipe has a longer cat in it than a stock pipe. This was the only way to get past emissions. The pipe I have is the same so on went the decatted pipe with stock mufflers for now. I tried my cvo muffs with 2” Fullsac cores with the cat in, didn’t like the way the engine responded even after some tuning runs. I have the smaller baffle, so at some time I will try that. Been socked in with rain, so no time to road test/tune it yet.

Installed a DK Custom Convertible comfort lift on my 21 Tri Glide…

The instructions were really good, the videos were excellent for preparation.

The only real fly in the ointment is the Allen head machine screws holding on the parking brake bracket must’ve been put on with Thor’s hammer; obviously somebody had the air ratchet cranked up at the Harley factory when they made this one.

Of course as soon as I finished the job and cleaned up all the tools it started raining. It will be raining for the next few days. At least I got this job done, can’t wait to test it out!

I really liked my Wrinkle Black Speed Fin cover I had on my Outlaw 828 Air Cleaner.

But everybody (Mary being the deciding factor) thought the Chrome looked better on the Tri Glide.

I had to test out some new breather bolts and banjo fittings anyway...

Side Note: We have always (for the last 12+ years) been able to order these banjo breather bolts and get them quickly. Well, now, because of shortages, there is NO WHERE in the world we can get them. We even tried China...yes, shame on us...and they would special make them for us. Wait would be 2-3 weeks and then air shipping would be $3500. That is $3500, just for the shipping. Can't send them via container, no telling when they would get unloaded.

SO, we made them ourselves, right here in the USA, by USA Citizens.

Yesterday we shot some footage for a video we are working on...How To Ride A Trike-Important Things to Know when Moving from Two Wheels to Three Wheels.

It was only the second time Dwayne had ridden a Trike (first time was just 3 minutes).

This time we rode for about 30 minutes, some back country roads, an open parking lot, and some 75 MPH interstate riding.

Here are a few still shots captured from video.

He caught on pretty quickly and had a blast.

This is on my list to do as well along with the oil cooler. Do you happen to have a picture of your install?

Thanks,

Brian

While you're waiting for his pic, here's a video showing how easy it is to remove/drain the oil filter with the relo...just the first minute and a half, then we talk about the actual filter.

Your trike looks so much better with Mary on the back. :) Sure hope to see you two again soon.

I had a lull in my busy schedule.....Rolled the front wheel on my Rollerstand and cleaned/waxed the wheel....[Half Harted]...AKA; Good enough...
