Went for a ride the other day stop at red light light turns green turn the throttle trike stalls , wont start push it off the road hit the starter button just hear a loud thud put it in gear rock it back and forth motors locked up What the F___ ?

Call my brother he comes get me let it sit for a few days, take it apart long long story , short of it the hayden primary chain adjuster broke went in to the primary chain and clutch hub sprocket pulled the primary chain half over the gear had to cut the primary to get it off , well I wish that was it. broke the clutch hub and bent the crankshaft the crank is 70 thousands out , and it f--- the engine case . It would of been a good day to start Drinkin again ? what ever ordered a new short block & many other parts $ 4000. so for . Hayden will not return a phone call text or email ?

Even if you'd had a factory warranty, Harley branded ESP or most any other ESP it would not have been covered since it was a 'modification' and with an aftermarket part. I do know of one ESP sold my motorcycleagent.com that allows for modifications but whether it would cover failure of a Hayden tensioner I don't know. In any case it sure sucks and hope you get it all back and running with no more problems of $$.

When i use to drag race.....As soon as i added headers my warrantee was done/Over..

I knew that going in....Some times you bag the bear, And then sometimes the bear bags you........

Picture of what's left of the Hayden primary adjuster . I have used 20 hayden adjusters with the white shoe never a problem with any of them . The m8 shoe is made of this cheep lookin black dog poop , Hayden will not return phone call's ,email's or text. fix and go on

I don't know anything about Hayden or the problems you experienced. But, I sure don't like companies that not only don't stand behind their products but ignore consumers when there is a problem. You deserve at least a "sorry, no warranty or we will discount/give you a new one". I would sure let them know that their lack of customer care is being exposed on forums that have xxxxxxxxx thousands of followers. Or, maybe they have already closed up shop because of their lack of customer satisfaction..... Jim

I cut the chain to get it off , It did not break

Ordered A Hayden primary chain tensioner for my ride not to long ago. After opening the box and and inspecting the product, I decided to reinstall the factory tensioner. It just didn't look well made to me.

They used to be great now they are shit . Plus no service at all ?

I am going to try a Vulcan tensioner in my 14. Had a Baker unit in there and it seemed real noisy. Not sure but I think Vulcan is a NH company?

I never heard of one, have to look it up , I ordered a stock one, but lookin for something better .

So how big is this motor going to be when you are done?

Going back to a 117 use my heads, cam, throttle body, oil pump , new short block & cylinders & pistons . set the rev limiter to 3400 :clapping:

Ya got me good on that one:p

I wish you luck with your new build, damn shame Hayden did not step up

I guess they made enuff money back in the Evo days and just dont care any more?

They were good on the twin cams , Hayden must have change the shoe material for the M8 theres a lot of bad reviews on Amazon , I guess they can't remove them from there, they claim that they dont sell on Amazon that those are counterfeit somebody posted a picture of one from Amazon it's stamped right on it Hayden? They dont answer there phone so they cant be selling much? I will have my sister try to call from florida see if they answer

No Warranty does suck in these instances BUT you tossed the warranty out the window when you went with the Hayden.

Hearing more and more stories of good companies and products going south. Personal experience.

Had a certified HD mechanic install a Baker 6speed w/reverser setup in a '10 Ultra. Worked great for 6 months then kaboom, left the drive belt on the asphalt. Threw the bike on a trailer and raced to Horney Toad HD in Temple where they jumped right on it. 1 1/2hr later service managed waved for me to come back. The whole set of Baker gears had exploded in the case.

As with Hayden, Baker wouldn't return phone calls, emails, etc. Went to visit with them at Sturgis. Didn't even want to talk about it. The person I needed to talk to wasn't there. Sucks to be a customer with an issue. AND I had a warranty on their gears.

Man, that sucks!

It's been over 10 years since I've run a Hayden. Had no idea they had gone downhill quality wise and Customer Service Wise.

Sounds like you have a nice build in the works.

The new short block came in , that was quick , it came with a primary gasket kit, top end gasket kit, cam plate & bolts, timing chain, cam gears , crank position sensor , now all I need is some time to put together ? I bought the short block from Ronnies H D in Pittsfield MA They do on line ordering & give a pretty good discount , if you need anything look them up on line . I bought the bike at Sheldons H D, the last time I went there they charged me $ 16.95 for a black oil filter that list for $ 12.95 I asked parts boy what the f--- he says we have to mark up the parts to make money , I say HA HA you get no more of mine !

Got the motor in and running late last night, Rode it today I had a 117 tune from Dyno jet Did a few Auto Tune's, I like the 117 better than the 128 . It runns really good, spark plugs look good, good M P G , motor really quiet , didn't beat it yet, had to pass a car 55 - 80 real quick. ended up with a new short block, new screamin eagle cylinders and pistons, new screamin eagle cnc ported heads, used my S&S oil pump and cam plate redshift 472 cam , woods lifters, screamin eagle 64 mm throttle body 5.5 injector's, zippers one piece push rods, used a baker compensator, harley primary chain adjuster, I put a 2016 clutch basket and clutch hub bearing, nobody has the 2020 clutch hub bearing, the 2020 bearing is 62 mm the 2016 is 72mm the 2016 clutch basket looks a lot stronger than the 2020, It say's that it will not fit 2020 we measured it and it does . Right now no primary noise. Pray to God this one last ! HA HA :D

Did not like the Baker Comp. Had one and it galled.

Went with the new Dark horse unit last year.

We will see how it holds up this year.
