Since Harley is getting so tight with their warranty it seems that if you do anything other than put gas in it you will void the warranty. We all know that there are a lot of things that you can do to make your TG a much better ride but most things will void the warranty. I know that I want to at least change the air cleaner and add a tuner just to start. Later I would most likely change the cam but not much more beyond that. My question is at what point have you felt comfortable enough that your TG was going to hold together that you said screw the warranty and started adding much needed modifications. I'm at 4,565 miles on my 2020 TG and would really like to start making improvements.

Harley isn't getting tight with the warranty , Per-say...Its the EPA that fined them very heavily .... From 2016 and earlier there wasn't many restrictions so the dealers looked the other way....Now you have to be careful on what changes you make....

On bikes since 2017 I just factor in the cost of a real warranty from Jim Palmer. HD and their collusion with the EPA makes their drivetrain warranty close to useless, unless you are content with a completely stock bike that is slowly eating itself.

Here's a link to a post in this forum about Jim- https://www.triketalk.com/forum/thr...ce-Plans-(Original-Factory-Warranty-In-Force)

It should also be noted that you can do all of the improvements you mention without voiding the warranty if you use Screamin' Eagle parts and have a dealer do the install. There are many options available for these mods. This is just a way to get them done without having warranty issues.

You beat me to the punch. That's exactly what I was going to say.

Or any H-D branded part.

Try modifing any vehicle engine from an auto mfg. and then try to get warranty work done.

Yep, and the Screamin Seagull parts still do this to the inside of your engine...because they are NOT the same as doing mods that are good for your bike.
