Aluma Trike, Since this is not a tricycle and will be powered by a front wheel electric motor or a Briggs and Stratten motor I am going to post this as a possible build. The frame material will be 6061-T6 aluminum (aerospace) the forks will be from a 1940s whizzer with 26" hub motor, the rear will have 16"x3" or 18"x 6" 8" rim dia. I want the rear to have a suspension so I am thinking wide 16" swing arm with coil over shocks and a motorcycle seat, This will be used for local travel (parts/beer chaser) 25 MPHish and bike lanes, This will also be Ca DMV compliant. The first photos will be of Tri Pod1 I built many years ago so this will follow the same build but different. This should also be a low budget fun thing that you can also drive on the streets...EDIT: 36V 350W 25MPH 20 miles of travel.

- Aluminum frame is aerospace 6061-T6, 1"x3" channel, some boxing, Rear axle will be 1"x 30" go cart live and dead hubs 4x4 with 8" rims and 18" x 6" wide tires, M/C solo seat, If I do not hear from my neighbor it will be electric, 1K Watt x 48 Volts x 20Ah, lith ion Batts, I hope to hit 30 MPH. There will be no DMV necessary with this one...

New eBay Headlight on RebelRouser went out on low beam, problem was in the wiring from the previous owner, so I will use it here for attention of other drivers NOT to run over my azz and yes it will be flashing with a tail light,

EDIT AGAIN: This fork assembly was ordered and I get a eBay email from them saying they do not have the tire (chinese meaning for wheel) 1 week of emails meaning no wheel no deal, so they send the assembly less the wheel and will discount $90.00, again I tell them no wheel no deal, now they (HongKong) say wait for delivery and send back for refund, such assholes...EDIT AGAIN: Just caught the FedEx guy and he put down refused...

Tires got mounted and colored, -AND, Damn the clevis people on eBay sent the wrong size OD threads, I ordered 1-12" threads and 1" ID for the size of the axle, DAMN! now I need to send them back also, DAMN SELLERS ON eBAY...The size on the right is 7/8 thread and ID...

These shocks are off a ATV front and they are soft, no adjustment, I was getting 4"+ travel on RebelRouser too much for speed bumps, Do you think this configuration will work better? I really do not want vertical...:gah:

sorry but nope.. not if the are soft with the amount of leverage you have you need a wicked strong spring and very little travel.. to get an idea take the chocks out and measure the shock an the amount of travel... you will finw the wheel travel a lllooootttt you might put a bell crank in

i would shy away from rod ends for wheel bearings.. they might last forever in this application... but this is not what they are mad for! checked the speck and i did not see any speck for rpm.. usually if something is meant to spin there is a speck... as i said with a light load an low rpm they might last for ever but personally i wouldnt want to zooming down the road an have one fail

Now you know WHY I call this mock up...EDIT: Need's to be changed to a swing arm style? Bellcrank?Maybe put the control arms/swing arm inboard and the shocks running outside along the frame?

Shocks will go something like this, change the control arms to a swing arm design and place the shocks beside the seat post area and fit the batteries in there also?

Frame is tack welded, nice to have the clamps out of the way and the Heim Joints bolted to it. Still waiting for the Monarch Springer Forks and front Worksman wheel, BUT on the good side, NEW Bell Comfort Bike Tire 26" Carbon Steel Bead Bicycle Wheel 1.75" - 2.25"tire, Bicycle Inner Tube GoodYear 26" x 1.9" to 2.3" Heavy Duty 30% thicker, free shipping, and liner has come in...:clapping:
