Ok so on my original observations in another post, I had no vibrations up to 92 mph. Well a few days later I went out for another ride, checked the tire pressure, it was at 37. You would figure the tech who changed the tire would read the special instruction on the work order to set the pressure at 40, but no, typical. Rest the pressure to 40 went out for a ride. Noticed a strange sensation in the bars. A few days later the same thing, on a longer run around 145 miles, noticed my hands were getting a slight numbing sensation. No road vibration, smooth, no handling issues. A couple more more ride same type of issue. Yesterday I reset the pressure to 39 lbs, went out on 220 mile jaunt, better, really not noticeable like before, no issues with the hands. I don’t think a pound or even two will hurt the tire, just wanted to pass this on.

Just a suggestion...My tire pressure will go up after being run for a few miles..especially in the summer... what was the pressure when you returned from those rides? Cold, sitting in the garage, I always start at 36-37....here in Texas heat should probably start at 35. :flame: If I start out cold pressure at 38-40 the ride is like a pogo stick.

Really good point, next couple times out I’ll check during the ride as well. You would think manufacturing would take this into consideration, but..... lol.

Keep in mind ambient air temps affect tire PSI also

If you are setting the PSI in your garage early morning, your readings will be different as the day warms up and the tires heat up. Also depending on your elevation this too can be a factor;)

And If you have 3 Different air gauges like most have everyone of them will give a different read’ Worrying about a pound or two is overthinking...🤔...

Good answer Bob;) I use a dial gauge with a bleed off valve that I bought from Matco Tools. I cross check my Milton pencil type gauges against the Matco . If my Milton's are plus or minus 1 lb I keep em;)
