I rode on two wheels for 35 years. In March of this year, I was attacked by a patient in my ER (I'm an ER doctor) and sustained a concussion, broken ribs, cuts and bruises. Following the concussion, I had a very difficult time riding my Harley Ultra Classic due to post-concussion syndrome. I had headaches, balance problems and concentration issues.
We had three cycle trips planned for this summer, so rather than blow them off, I traded my Ultra in for a 2011 HD Tri Glide Ultra. I've put 5,200 miles on it in the past six weeks, and I really like the trike. My spouse feels very safe and stable on the back. In the meantime, my post-concussion syndrome has resolved, but I wouldn't go back to the Ultra Classic, as I enjoy the trike so much.
My only complaint is that it doesn't have enough power to maintain speeds going up an incline in sixth gear on the interstate in mountainous states. I'm looking for power upgrades and will be searching the archives here for advice and wisdom.
