New Triglide

Hello everyone, I said hello in the new member section. Just wanted to post here and show the new addition to our family. 2012 Triglide. She's a sweet ride!! Got 61 miles on her so far. The 30 tooth front drive sprocket really makes a difference.
I added a Captain Itch Crotch Cooler. It really handles the heat coming off the catalytic converter. Looking forward to riding two up again with my sweet wife.

NICE! Enjoy...2-up. Amazing how much more Wifey & I ride now that we are on a trike (GL) last few years.....sun is warmer...ain't that cold as it used to be...and them trips..they just keep comin'.

Thanks Nana, Yeah, that was fast! I didn't have any idea they would have one in like we wanted. It has the front end Chrome package with matching footboards, Mirrows and grips. The color is Ember red and Sunglo Merlot. Tell Mike we said hello.

I have the same bike/year/color, but I have never heard of a front end "chrome package". I also noted your chrome bumper.

I don't see such a package as a Harley offering on their site, so is this some bling your dealer adds on to pad his profit a bit?

Absolutely a Dealer addon for profit! I had the bumper added before I picked up the bike. A big mistake on my part. They charged me 75.00 labor to put in four bolts. Needless to say, they won't see me again unless it's a warranty issue. Ride Safe!!!

Nice is all I can say. Someday Joan and I will have one. I don't know which color I like the best. That new red is something, but the sparkle in the Merlot is beautiful too. I seem to be partial to red, if you know what I mean.

Thanks, I like a bright color in a bike. It's more likely to be seen better on the road.

I'm partial to Red also. Harley did a great job with the 2012 color's. The Blue is also nice.

Congrats on your TG.. I have the same one in the blue. Got it 2 weeks ago and have already put on 500 miles...haha The wife and I are on the road as much as possible. I did have the rear bumper installed at the dealership. It should help protect the rear fiberglass backing into its place in the garage... and it looks sweet!!!.. Drive safe and often...

Check over on the right side of your screen, and scroll down through the sponsor banners to one that says either "Crotch Cooler" or "Captain Itch". The crotch cooler makes a huge difference in keeping the engine heat off your thighs! Here is a picture of mine on my trike:

Looks to me like the Crotch Cooler may effect the heat dissipation from the rear of the motor. I worry more about the motor getting hot than me.

If it wasn't for the Sunglo red on the 2012, I wouldn't have bought it. I don't want black and the dark blue might as well be black. Harley never was very good with bike colors and such a small choice. I did like the black ice on my 2010 Limited though.....that was a unique color. That's what made me buy that bike. So, yes, the color is the main reason for me to buy a bike.

I had the whole front end on my 03 Ultra chromed along with everything else on that bike. I had an accident in 03 which was almost $13000 worth of repairs. I made a deal with the dealer to uppgrade everything on the bike and only had to pay the difference between the upgrade and the stock part. I paid a little over $1000 for $7560 worth of goodies.

I think that was the best thing that came out of the accident. Wish I could do that again....with the same outcome as before - no injuries to me. ThumbUp

Won't do it to this trike though since I didn't get anything for all that bling when I traded it in. Now all I will get is comfort and safety items. First thing was my Zepplin air seat and heated grips. Next will be the floor board extenders to move my feet another inch away from the engine and a set of Hyper-Lite stop lights.

Can't wait to spend money - now I know how wives feel. Just kidding
