Trike s an '05GL1800 w/ CSC kit.
The trailer connection on the trike is 6 pin and i have a 4 pin comnnector on the trailer. Running lights and trun signals work but no brake lights on the trailer. The two pins not connected are a red and black.
I have seen 5 pin to 4 pin converters but nothing for 6 pin.

Solutions??

Thanks for the help.

I cannot remember the wire connections off the top of my head,
I will try and post tomorrow.

IF I dont make it (gets busy at times), send me a pm and I will get it to you

Regards,
Chuck

I believe you will find that your trike side of the connector will have:

Brake Black or Red
12 volt hot Black or Red
Running Brown
Left Turn Yellow
Right Turn Green
Electrical Ground White

The colors are only possible please check with a meter first.

Hey ol' Grey, thanks for that link -- looks like they have every kind of adapter except for what I need!! I'll keep looking.

Cadtochrome/Gorilla,thanks for the response, what Gorilla said matches the trike side. Looking for an adapter to convert to 4 pin.

If you find an adapter for a 5 pin to 4 you can wire it into the pigtail you have on the trike. Just leave off the 12 volt hot wire, making whats left as a 5 wire.

I have a CSC trike and am putting together a Piggy Backer trailer which has the standard 4-pin flat plug. My plan is to cut off the CSC plug on the trike (which I believe is unique to CSC) and replace it with a 6-pin Hopkins (they sell a kit, #48405, which has both the towing vehicle female and the trailer male, $11.16 on Amazon). I'm adding separate amber turn signals on the trailer so will need to run wires from the hitch back for that and then also another wire for a light inside the trailer - this will use up all 6 wires from the trike. The above was recommended by members of the GWRRA chapter that I belong to - they have their bikes wired as above, and this allows them to pull somebody elses trailer in the event of an emergency on the road.

JimJudy 75 -- thanks, I'll take alook at that

Gorilla -- I'm thinkin' that may be the solution -- thanks for the explanation -- electiric is not my forte to say the least!!

TomP913 -- thanks for that -- that is one more solution for my back pocket.

One afterthought (since forethoughts are rare for me) - I am not directly familiar with the CSC trailer outlet so I assume it is the standard round style. I went through this not too long ago with my Stallion & trailer wiring.

Ok not asked but I guess implied . You have L & R turn , STOP and running lights on your TRIKE BUT on the Trailer you have Stop/L& R combo and running lights.I bought a converter from Wally world for $19.00 that cured my problem

unfortunately not -- it is rectangualr w/ 4 pins to match a 4 pin connector plus 2 more in a separate row.

but thanks for the link

Rick, what did you endup doing? I have a CSC 08' wing and just bought a trailer with a 4 wire hookup with the same running and turning lites only. The plug on the bike is goofy, never seen one like it before.

I stopped in a trailer place one day and asked about it -- simple solution they said -- and installed a 3 to 2 converter on the trike -- cost me about $50 installed -- it was little expensive but it worked!! :pepper:
