I am about to change my rear tires, looking for something other than Dunlap. I know that Michelin has a tire that size, my question is about the stiffness of the sidewall which will affect the softness of the ride. Is there really a difference in car sidewalls and how to determine which one to select?

bill there is another thread on this very subject last month take a look at that

Well I can't tell yet, way to cold for me to get out and to much salt still on the roads here in Pennsylvania but... I mounted Goodyear Viva III's. If they turn out to be stiff and a pain in the A$$ LOL... I will try something else. At 22 lbs. in the rear tires we will see, OEM Dunflops were nothing special let me tell ya. I got a real steal on the Viva's the only reason I put them on. I figured my utility trailer could use new skins so give them a try. Good luck choosing tires. I also went a little higher profile 70's tires just to try a small gearing change. Not a good tire picture but there is a noticeable difference in ground clearance. Fred

See below. They really do make a nice improvement.

Goodyear ComforTred works for a lot of us. Good in the rain also. Softer sidewalls
