Lift Kit for 2019?

What is the lift kit for? The sales person said it is for if you ride 2 up most of the time to keep from bottoming out or tire rubbing. I was reading that some said they were dragging their pipes but I thought the lift kit would only lift the body not the frame where the pipes are? Looking for some help in understanding. Thanks

The pipes lift up with the body when using the lift kit.......Also the kit makes it easier to steer the Trike...

Just to add......Take what a Sales person tells you with a grain of salt...

So when you lift the back up it must put more pressure on the front tire to make it steer easy? Is the difference big or just better? Thanks.

Much better......The only way to compare, Is ride the trike without the kit for a hundred miles then put the kit in....You'll know right away...

I am picking mine up today but I have read that people are saying that the 19's do not need a lift kit. Time will tell.

Yes, I heard the same. I am looking at getting a 2019. Maybe the 19's don't need the lift but they might steer better with this kit? Let us know what you think.

None of them "need" a lift kit, but all of them, including the '19's, will benefit from a Convertible Comfort Lift™ Kit.

The '19's use exactly the same lower shock mount bracket as the 09-18's.

We have had quite a few folks with '19's install them and be just as pleased with the additional pipe clearance, improved ride quality, and easier steering as folks with previous year models.

See more info on them HERE.

I am wanting to add a lift kit on my 2019. I was wondering if the kit for OEM shocks would be sufficient or just bite the bullet & add the kit with new shocks.

I hate to disagree with Kevin from DK Customs but I will not be putting on the Custom Comfort Lift Kit on my 2019 TGU for the following reasons in order of perceived importance:

1. The 2019 TGU has significant suspension and traction control features that were not designed/implemented for the add on lift kit.

2. The 2019's TGU pipe clearance to the ground is greater than my 2017 TGU was with the lift kit.

3. The DK mod could invalidate the manufacturer's warranty on the entire suspension/traction control system per Harley's lost tolerance for non-factory approved mods.

The 2019's do not suffer from that "droopy ass" stance as did the previous model years. Kevin and his partner Devin are a couple of sharp people but have not owned the latest modded trike to make their own seasoned opinions on the above described concerns. I do have their floor board extenders on my 2019 and would not ride without them.
