Looking to buy a new Freewheeler

Sold the Tri-Glide years ago and miss it. I have a Heritage Softail Classic and I am going to make the trade. So I'm back on the forum. Thank you

I would hold off to see if the MoCo makes changes to the M8 to fix a problem some have with the transmission fluid migration to the primary.

I'm at 6,000 miles & don't have an issue, but a few do.

I've heard a rumor they are making minor changes to the cases & some hydraulic clutch parts.

If not, you could pick up a deal on a 2018 as the 19's come out. Some dealers will throw things in, like an extended warranty.

Actually, I am worried about what the new Harleys will be like....Tariffs, more and more parts coming from Asia????? I have a 2015 (103) and it is looking better and better all the time these days......

Sorry, to be so negative.....

I have a fantastic track record with my 2017 FW.

Absolutely 100% reliable.

I bought mine in CA & after 1,000 miles of break in there, rode back to Missouri & it ran great. I had 1 code pop up, cleared it & it didn't return.

Mine doesn't use oil, no tranny fluid migration & nothing has come loose.

It's hard to improve on that.

Since the 2019's will be announced at the end of next month, and sales are in the tank-Id work a deal on a 2018.I don't think there will be a case change.I think the sumping problem is a poor interface between the oilpump and case. Its right there in the service manual on troubleshooting( o-ring).S&S has just introduced thier upgraded oil pump and cam plate for the M8.Ive always considered the female form the most beautiful thing in this world. But that S&S setup has to have second place.Once my warranty expires I'll be installing one and also Stonecolds tranny fix. With these two upgrades the M8 is the best motor ever built.(Nope- Sportster)
