I have a question for all of you Harley Experts. I have a Power Vision controller on my trike with a downloaded tune for an open air filter and Vance&Hines slip-ons. Not exactly the slip-ons that I have. Mine are the newer ones made for trikes. Last Saturday I was out riding and was about 75 miles from my house and at a stop light, my bike overheated and dumped the antifreeze. I rode about 4 miles to the Harley Dealer and today got a call from the service dept. and was told that my Power Vision Controller had turned off the fans and that my trike had overheated. They disconnected the Power Vision and loaded a stock tune back into the ECM and everything is OK now. I had been running the tuner for about 6 weeks without any problems until now.

And the rest of the story is? What are the problems.

I'm no expert but I would Call Dynojet in Navada and verify that the power vision unit can do such a thing. My experience tells me no. I have an old 09' Never heard of Power Vision tuners changing those types of settings. MHO Good luck keep us posted. Fred

Saturday I was at a traffic light and the bike overheated and dumped the antifreeze on my right foot. I was told this morning that the Tech had been running my bike and it would overheat because the fans would not come on. About 3 PM the service writer called me ands told me that the Power Vision had disabled the fans. They then disconnected the Power Vision and loaded a stock tune to the ECM and every thing is back to normal with no overheating.

Sorry, miss understood that last sentence. Thought you having a problem with the stock tuner. Just as Fearless stated have never heard of the Power Vision turning off the fans and I would be calling Dynojet.

I been running that Power Vision over a year and never had a issue. I running Stage I with Scream Eagle breather and Vance Hines Eliminators 400.

Is it possible your Engine Management was turned off?

That would cause an over heat, the rear cylinder would be hot hot hot

There is a setting in the PV tuner for that Ask your dealer if they meant that;)

It is possible that the tune had the fans inoperative....if that was the case, it is because the wrong tune for your Trke was loaded in the PV.

It seems a bit unlikely that you could ride 6 weeks with no fans and not have a problem...possible, but unlikely. It is possible that there was another issue that may manifest again. Time will tell.

You can email us at Support@DKCustomProducts with your Trike info (year, AC, exhaust, etc) requesting a tune for your PV. We'll email you back a good tune that you can load and it will have the fans (and everything else) operative.

I found out what I did wrong. I had an air cooled map loaded which will turn off the fans. I just talked to Chris at DynoJet and got a map that should work on my bike. They do not have a map for the recently released V&H Slip-ons made for trikes so I got a map for V&H dual ovals.
