Really disappointed with the Zumo 350lm.Some of the reasons listed below after my initial use ( I updated the maps before starting this). It doesn't recognize the town of Warm springs Ga. The location of the Roosevelt fireside chats, and has a major medical facility. It doesn't recognize the HD dealership in Newnan Ga that has been there for 10 years. It gives the location of the Kroger grocery in my home town of Griffin Ga where Kroger moved from 10 years ago. Don't know what else is wrong. I reloaded the maps software and got the same results.

Not sure what is going on with your device. I have the Harley version of the Zumo 590lm. I know it's not the very same unit but maps is maps. I'm running City Navigator North America NT 2018.2 which was the most current version the last time I checked a few weeks ago.

I had no trouble finding Warm Springs, GA, nor the Harley dealership in Newnan. Like yours mine did find a Kroger store (on Spauling road I think it was) in Griffin.

Any of these gps devices are only as good as the map data base they use. Don't know how many cartographers in the world there are making map data bases but I doubt there are all that many. Unsure who Garmin uses to supply their map data bases.

Don't give up on it just yet. There is definitely a learning curve with any of these gps devices. I've been using Garmins since about 2005 and I still learn things. As for the gps on the new Harleys well don't get me started on that. If you think the Garmin is difficult you ain't seen nothing 'til you wrestle with the built in H-D unit.

Good luck!

I just bought a Zumo 595 because I lost my H-D Zumo 660. I can't see a damn thing with my sunglasses on - I can't see the display in my cars either, but it's way better then the H-D in dash unit. I hope Harley has improved the unit since 2014.

I HATE the H-D GPS. It has the same problems you describe. Can't locate 4 dealers that I know of. And for some reason it will not acknowledge some expressways. On 2 occasions it directed me secondary roads running almost parallel to a highway. I have "Fastest" and no "Avoidances" selected.

I was telling this to the dealers parts manager and he said to contact Garmin. I told him Garmin does not make the H-D unit (at least that's what I've read and been told for the last 4 years). He said for a fact, if you want to upgrade the maps you HAVE TO GO TO GARMIN. That's news to me. What do you guys think about that?????

My Zumo 660 was the best unit I ever had - just wished it had a larger screen.

I'm with Ultrafxr on the H-D built in unit.....it's POS.

Interesting...this thread is posted twice..

I noticed that too.

I like your Texas saying at the bottom of your post. It's so true. I lived in Temple for 5 years back in the 80's and my son was born at Scott and White. Largest male born that day = 9+ lbs. I bought him a Novelty Texas Passport that day. You had to fill in all the particulars except the height - - it was pre printed 6' :) He is now.

We had a salesman who moved to Temple from Arkansas 27 years earlier. They still call him the new guy. :D

Gary verify that you are saying that the 595lm is harder to see then your 660 was with sun glasses on?. I was considering upgrading to the 595lm but not if it is harder to see.

Thanks

Not want to hijack or speak for Gary but I've had 660s for several years and 590 for one year. The 590 display is much harder to see in sunlight than the 660. Garmin says it has better resolution but to my tired old eyes it does not. But I have pretty much adjusted to it. Reason I bought it was I traded a CVO than came from the factory with the 660 and had to let it go. The 660 is discontinued and I wanted to buy a current model. The 590 does have some things about it I like better than the 660 but the display is not one of them.

The 660 had a more vivid display, the 595 looks washed out - at least to me. With the sun behind you = no way will you see the display. Here's a tip for all GPS units = wear something black so it helps in the reflection.

The only thing I like about the 595 is the bigger screen, but if you can't see it, what's the big deal?

I liked the 660's address search better then the 595 - it seems backwards like the H-D unit. and the 660 had an aux jack you could plug in earbuds.

You can still find and buy new Zumo 660's and that's what I should have done.

HDBOB, I have the latest update, but a couple weeks ago I was at the dealer and he was going to update the dealer list, but there was a web problem and he couldn't. I will give it a try soon.

I have the 660 and I have wondered if there is a way to update the HD locations. A few in my area have moved or gone out of business. Anyone know? I have done the maps update from Garmin.
