Tranny jammed in park

I am posting for my mother, who has an early Stallion (#300 or so). She is having a problem with her bikes transmission jamming in "Park". There is a little cover below the shifter that she can take off, and push her key (hard) into the hole, that will release it...until she shifts back to Park, where it jams again. She has had the dealer work on it once, but it is doing it again.

Anybody got a fix for this problem?

Thanks

Chan

It is most likely the brake position sensor. I have had to change a few on the earlier models because of that problem. They have since went to different sensor. Your dealer can change out the part fairly easy. Are far as getting it out of park, if you open the hood and look right under the shifter on the right hand side you will see a little rod with a mushroom shaped head on it that you can depress. While it is depressed you can shift it out of park.

If she has one with that low of a number, She will alot better off getting the new and waterproof brake switch installed. Call Nick at TMS for the part and have it taken to someone who can solder. It will only take about 30-45 minutes to complete.
