Movies / TV General Discussion

Saw the first two episodes of 24 LEGACY. Eric Carter is no Jack Bauer but, the fast moving, split screen, time clock is all there. Monday at 8PM.

Missed the first, caught the second and I'm totally lost. We dvr'd them both so now we have another show to watch :gah:
Have to agree he's not but we'll see  great hearing from you!

Accountant

Alright...so it was movie night at the house after dinner out with the family. Michele chose The Accountant.
First off she's a big Ben what's his face fan..and I've heard good things about it.
What should you expect? It has flashes of John Wick action, but it most certainly isn't an all out action movie, however, it also isn't primarily a drama suspense thriller focusing on his autistic/accounting side of things;
I felt they did a really good job of combining both elements into a movie that swings back and forth between the two.
I thought the acting was great all around; I found the plot solid and enjoyable. If you missed this in theaters...rent it it's definitely worth it. 200096.jpg

Dude...ain't NUTHIN' like John Wick! Speaking of, I can only hope they don't make a mockery of the first one with the second edition that's coming out.

I said "flashes" of John Wick....

And yes, hopefully not...I really enjoyed the first!

We did manage to see Central Intelligence. It wasn't horrible mostly because of Kevin Hart and The Rock but not as humorous as expected.
Since Designated Survivor is taking a break, filled Wed. night at 10PM with "Six". 8 part mini series about Seal Team 6. Drama, not documentary and 3 episodes in already.

Yeah, we took a pass on it. We like them but couldn't bring ourselves to pay good money to see it.
As for "Six" we are both watching it.... I'm behind as usual but it stars Walton Goggins as RIP. He's been in a lot of the movies and Tv that we've liked. JUSTIFIED, THE HATEFUL EIGHT, and DJANGO UNCHAINED. ThumbUp

Walter Goggins acting ability really came thru when he played a transvestite on Sons of Anarchy and was a "friend" to Tig. I've always liked the characters he's played.

It was hard for me to transform him from Justified to the freak on Anarchy

Yes he's a talented actor indeed, and once you get used to seeing someone in an role so long it's hard to picture them in another.

Is it just me or was anyone else a little let down from the season premiere of the Walking Dead last night?
After the last few season openers this just seemed a little bit uneventful  I did like the scene with the two cars and cable taking out the herd.

Ratings have been going down as some said it was getting to "gory". This is bringing it back on track for an "emotional" level, so say the reviewers!
It was plot building last night and the "limbo" herd scene took it to a new level.
It's still our 'go to' Sunday night show.

Yeah I can see that, we've been watching since the beginning and can see why some are turned off by the excessive gore. We are still hooked and hope that Rick and gang can pull off the overthrow of the Saviors.

Curse of Oak island...Well from the previews it looks like they've found something in the money pit, but we have to wait until the season finale tp get the details. :xszpv:

Yep...almost decided not to watch it last night as it had gotten so boring (no pun intended).
Was switching between it and Fixer Upper.
The preview for the finale looked interesting but it will remain to be seen if they show that they found anything more than a coin and a small hunk of metal.

Stay tuned boys and girls and don't miss next week's exciting adventure!

Highway Thru Hell

Highway Thru Hell.... reality show about heavy duty wrecker service in Canada during the winter on mountain highways.

This has got to be one of the most dangerous occupations out there. If one is not familiar with this type of equipment it is a real eye opener.

Had to Google that... I'll see if we can add this to our list :D Thanks!

Well Joe, your rating was spot on!
John Wick 2 did not disappoint...the catacomb scenes and the opening sequence with the car and the taxi drivers were like wow.
Wife said she could have done without a few select scenes.
Hand to hand combat was intense and gun play beyond amazing. Also have to say... I'll never look at the homeless population the same way again :D

Anyone been watching Legion? The first episode was misleading, but it was setting up what was to follow in the TV series. If you like watching shows concerning metaphysical forces you will probably find it interesting.

Hey Terry, Michele said she watched the premier and didn't really get into it.
Unfortunately she erased it from the dvr. I'll have to see if I can catch an episode to form my own opinion.
Too many shows to watch :gah: started to watch Timeless (not bad) ...she and Kaden are caught up and i'm 3 behind Oh well never enough time (no pun intended)

Timeless is pretty good.

Episode 1 of Legion was difficult to get through so I can see why your wife might not have been interested. It portrayed the characters as having mental illnesses, but that was misleading from the reality of the series. Actually it was rather strange, but I like strange things, :D, and glad I stuck it out. The wife and I record all our television viewing so we can zip through the 15 minutes of advertisements. Otherwise we'd never get through an entire episode of any series. It's a necessity to stop and start anytime we have time for TV together.

Forged In Fire is pretty good. Lots of good blade makers. They don't bash the losers like some other competition shows. I respect that.
