We have a 2013 GL1800 and just bought a Bushtec trailer to go with it. I ordered a harness from Bushtec but the instructions are confusing. Does anyone know of a video out there to help with this install?
Thanks

I don't know of any videos but it should be pretty much plug and play. I know it was on my 06 GL with an RS conversion. The wire connections were under the trunk so I had to take it off but then it was easy to see how it all worked.
Good luck and have fun.

Hope this helps. Goldwing Wiring from rear of trike: Brake- Green with Red Stripe Running Lights - Brown with White Stripe Right Turn - Light Blue Left Turn - Orange I went through a hard time with mine and had a bad 5 wire to 4 wire converter. Got another converter and all works perfectly now.

Sorry it is not keeping the bullets the way I saved it..

It should not be to bad.Not sure about your harness.does it have a isolator ? Should be plug and play and run a hot wire to the isolator.its been a while since I have put the last one on my bike.I will be adding a 5 to 4 wire converter this weekend.

Well, I found the plugs I needed under the relay box. That part was a snap. Now my problem is, all lights work on trailer except running/tail lights. When I tap my brakes, running light come on. I tried changing all different combinations and it doesn't seem to matter. Put a test light in front of everything and can't find running light/tail power???🙄🙄

If you installed the Bushtec harness inside the trunk lid, remove the inner liner again. Reverse the 2 connections inside the lid. I know what the instructions say as to the color coded connections, but mine did the same thing after install on my 15 Wing. After swapping the conections, all worked as it was supposed to. I don't know why the instructions are printed that way cause I had the same problem as you described.
Spent quite a bit of time testing and checking before deciding to swap the connections. Still a mystery to me, BUT all works well.
Just riding and pulling my Bushtec trlr and enjoying the ride.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

NOTE: Be sure the power and ground are to the battery direct!!
BTW: Blue wire from isolator is power to running lights

I have the bushtec harness on my 2010 and had one on a 2002. I think it was from electrical connections now I think about it.But anyway I don't recall having a problem .Maybe honda made a change to the harness when the new model came out,and that's why the plugs have to be switched.? I am getting ready to do a little work on my harness today.I never run it to the back of the bike when I done the trike conversion, and I also will have to add a 5 to 4 wire converter.

There is a difference in the harness needed for models after 2010
Not sure what it is other than Bushtec supplies each 2001-2010 and 2012-2015. Never used any other harness except Bushtec.
Install instructions were fairly clear to me though.
Only difficulty I had was wrestling the seat back on. What a pain!!
Good luck with your project. No ride today. R A I N !!!!!!!!
Good Ole Florida weather
Enjoy your day

For many years bushtec was owned by john Preston.I am not sure now if it was his son or nephew that owns electrical connections. It seems to me they kinda worked together at that time. A local dealership here where I live, now owns bushtec. Electrical connections and bushtec are both top notch products.

I did get my camper plug wired today.1st 5 to 4 wire converter was bad and had to go get another one. Then the plug I was going to re-use, the screws were rusted and I went back to town to get a new one. It seems a simple 1-1/2 job ended up taking all day.

Sadly John passed on a few years back. He and his wife and son Andrew ran a first class business. His son Lewis is the guru at Electrical Connections. Nothing but good reviews on E/C.
Glad you got your project completed.
Wonder if the O/P was successful ??

I had a Bushtec wiring harness on my GL1800. Here is the wiring for their 6 pin plug, and it should be labeled on the plug as well.

All Bushtec trailers are built with a 6 wire electrical harness. This system is designed to support separate signal feeds from the motorcycle for optimal visibility at the rear of the trailer. Color codes are as follows:

Green- Taillights
Blue- Brake
Yellow- Right Turn
Brown- Left Turn
White- Ground
Black- Interior Light (auxiliary)

i may be mistaken ,but think this is the standard color code for RV's as well.
