Late nighters---unite!!!

Well have a good nights rest, And don't let the bed bug's bite..... I said that to my Granddaughter years ago when she was very young, She started to scream jumped out of her bed and refused to go back in.... The worst screaming was from my Wife asking what in world did say to her......:AGGHH::AGGHH:

Good luck but any time I feel like that the next day isn't good at all. Hope you do better than me.ThumbUp

Feelin puny tonight. Freezing, coughing and sniffling. Think I'll turn in early.

Go visit your MD and get some drugs b4 it gets too bad. I had a cold that got into my chest and the cough was so bad my chest was killin me for two weeks. Still hurts after a month. I think I bruised a rib or sompthin.
The over the hill gang has got to nip it in the bud earlyer than when you were 20. Feel better Con.:cxtv:

Luckily, I didn't even have to get out. Our doc called us in a Z pack. Today, I slept aaallllll day. Feeling like crap. Hopefully I'll get over this by tomorrow night. I'm not gonna miss work.

Hey Scott are you feeling better?

A little. But I made myself get up and go today. If I could've, I'd have stayed home. Used up all my sick leave on gall bladder surgery back in December/January, so I'm busted there. Well, actually I've got 16 hours, but I don't want to waste them on being sick, if you know what I mean.

We are making a return trip to Chicago in the near future to pick up my father-in-law's guitar after the repairs are finished, and I'll use one as a family day then. We will do what we did last time...drive up shortly after I get off work on Tuesday, stay Tuesday and Wednesday night, then drive back Thursday. I'm looking forward to the food up there. The hotel we are staying at has the best Ruby Tuesday I've ever ate at. We will find another local pizza place to eat at Wednesday for lunch. Then pick something close to the hotel for supper that night. Breakfasts are provided by the hotel, so that's easy. I'm actually looking forward to it. Last time, not so much.

Thanks for asking, by the way.

I was self employed, Sick days weren't on the calendar....I even drove to my shop in Manhattan with casts on and still didn't miss a day... One motorcycle low side And one Snowmobile crash. Ouch! Good thing both happen on weekends....

My dad was a broker truck driver. Basically he rented the use of his truck and his time to a company that hauled liquid fuel products. He would get 2 paychecks, one for the truck and one for his time. Technically, he could take time off for himself and still get paid for the truck if he let someone else drive it. He wouldn't do this though, because if the other person messed up the truck somehow, it was on his dime.

In short, dad didn't take sick time either. He just recently said that he's taking his whole backlog of sick time now.

Another perk of being self employed, Is paying almost double the SS tax and not getting more than a single share..But i was able to sleep with the boss's wife...:D

Yeah, dad took out a boatload for taxes. He would put it in savings each paycheck, then pay all the taxes quarterly. About him sleeping with the boss's wife...:xzqxz:...is my reaction, considering who I'm talking about.

And YES, I know if it didn't happen, I wouldn't exist, but...still.

Not as bad as I was, that's for sure.

How's you?

No more caughin and hacken, chest still akes a bit, but all in all pretty dam good for a old fart.
Sorry i didnt get back to ya earlier, had to bring grandaughter to softball practice at 7.

Totally understandable. I'm getting ready to head to bed myself. Gotta recharge the batteries for tonight.

That Sicilian sounds good... Haven't had any for a while. ThumbUp

Hard to find a good one in Jersey... If you don't sit on the cook the'll always under cook them, Even with the round pies, They don't have the temps high enough in their ovens like they do in NYC....
Maybe Saving gas, Or just trying to rush the pie out??

That's the problem here, mon- Thursday there pretty good if you tell them to make it well done, fri- sun they just assembly line them out no matter what you order. Make your own on the BBQ with a pizza stone. :clapping:

Getting a Sicilian or a round......??

Actually it was 2 rounds and a calzone. All were good.

I had to get them to re-make the 2 pizzas. The cheese was 3 inches back from the edge half-way around them on both. They balked and said it was how they were cut. I said no it's because they are SWIMMING in sauce. They re-made them.

Hi Folks,

Just looked at the number of posts this thread has...this one makes 956 I believe. And looking at the number of posts everybody has posted here, I've put in 466 of those. :D I reckon that makes me the motor-mouth of the thread.

Still, I didn't figure it would get this far. Good ol' Dirtdobber was here initially, and gave me a run for my money posting on the thread, until he passed in that house fire in October, God rest his soul. I really miss the fella. He was always doing some kind of work in his shop to improve his rides. While he was talking to me on the thread at night, he was usually splitting time watching a movie with his wife.

And I'm glad for the many others that have recently started posting here. Gives me a little something extra to do while I'm sitting at my desk on morning watch. And I feel like I'm making friends with all who come around.

I guess what I'm trying to say is...THANKS...I really appreciate you guys (and gal) for posting here. I like the way it's becoming a place where conversations are taking place. That's what I meant for it to be. Please keep it up. Maybe it won't be long until I'm talking about 2000 posts coming up. Oh, and remember, posting here doesn't just have to be at night. Talk anytime. Just come on and look back over others' posts from the last time you were here, and answer as you see fit.

Scott

Sorry I haven't been back. Been out in the hallway talking with work mates. I'm sure you're back off the air by now.
