Ugh. What a way to lose a great car.

Well...training is over. I'll be back on my regular shift tonight. I'll be watching a ballgame and taking a nap in between times.

This should be Good !!

We'll see...here goes.

I've been carrying the 1911 every day since I traded for it. And every day at the end of the day, I would unholster and inspect it, looking for damage to the finish, etc. Why I feel like that, I don't know. Basically what I'm saying is, to me, it's just to pretty of a gun for me to carry. It's super nice, shoots beautifully, but if I'm afraid of getting a scratch on it, I don't need to be carrying the thing. If I don't want to carry it, it's useless in my opinion. I don't have enough money to have a gun that just sits around and does nothing.

So yesterday, I went fishing. I went back to the gun shop where I did the original trade, (my G22, G42, and about $300 worth of extra stuff and cash to them), and though I could get a G21, G42 plus maybe night sights for both. This would have me losing about $100-$150 in the deal. I was prepared for this.

Story continues next post...

Took the kimber into the store, found a clerk to wait on me, showed him what I had, and told him what I wanted. They wanted my gun and $100. I told him I'd do it if they put night sights on the G21. He went to the owner, who stuck with the original numbers. I got a little heated and said to heck with it and left. I then called and spoke with the owner. I asked him how my gun was any different in value now then it was a little over a month ago when I had to give up my 2 glocks and $300+. now?? My gun devalued $400 in a little over a month??? He told me that he had several Kimbers in now, and that it's value fell because of that. I basically told him he was batshit crazy, and to never expect any business from me again. He knows I was a good customer, because I had just bought a Remington .380 for my wife the day before.

So, I decided to go to another gun store about a mile up the road to try my luck. Usually, this store tries to rape me anytime I try to trade with them. I've walked out every time I've tried, and went to the other place, who always gives me decent deals.

I was very downcast, but decided to give it a try. Walked in, and the clerk who always basically says 'Your stuff is crap, and our stuff is gold', was leaving, so I got a fairly young clerk. I showed him what I had and told him what I wanted. Simple--my gun for a .45 ACP Glock and a .380 Blue Label Glock...both with night sights. (I should explain the 'blue label' program. Glock sells it's guns at a substantial discount to first responders and active military. When I say substantial, the least is about $75 cheaper and the higher the price, the higher the discount.)

Anyway, I knew he had to run it by 'the boss', who sets upstairs in an office with mirrored windows. I told him to tell his boss if he gives me a decent deal, he will have a customer for life. It really reminds me of buying a friggin' car. I waited for literally 15 minutes on the guy to get back with my gun and start telling me how they could only give me 80% of what they by it for and their price for it was $1100, blah, blah, blah.

I stopped him right there and said, "Look, this gun is worth more than any $850. The MSRP for a new one is $1600!! He said, "Wait, we can do the trade, plus put on night sights for both guns, and still give you a $50 gift card."

So this stopped me in my tracks. I just said, "Deal." Shoulda tried for a $100 gift card. So there it is....

Oh yeah...the 21 came with 3 thirteen round mags. Usually they come with a 13 and a 10 rounder (no 3rd mag). I bought an extra mag for the 42. Also bought a one round extension for the mag. You can see it in the pic.

Congrats!
Sounds like you're a happy camper again.
I think I've gotten behind on this. You were getting a Bersa 380 and then got a Remington 380 and now a Glock 380. This is vaguely like UAS isn't it?

Kinda sorta.

Actually the wife was not at all happy with the Bersa. So I changed gears and went with the Remington which is happy with. I would rather have the Bersa, but it ain't mine.

You should've seen her face while we were at the gun store. She had a huge frown on her face standing in the middle of the place. I took it she was unhappy with the Bersa at this point and asked if we could go with a new Remington. They were more than happy to let me spend the extra $150.

We had a big refund from the IRS, and now it's all but gone. We paid on some credit cards with high interest, and a few other bills that needed paid ahead. I was going to put BOOM! stage 1 speaker on the TG, but a total price of $715 is a little prohibitive to me. I've got $200 saved back to go toward it, but just can't bring myself to pull the trigger.

I put it in storage at the dealership last week in anticipation of doing it. Why? I can have them do the work and not have to pay for it until I pick it up. I have until March 31st to do that. I'd have to be sneaky to git 'er done, and I just don't know if I want to do that.

My Wing is at the dealer currently awaiting conversion. All the other goodies have been arriving the past few days and I should be up and running within the next few weeks. BTW, I finally sold my Triton Bass boat, which is going to help me fund this whole mess. I will post pictures as things really get underway.

What size are the speakers on your TG?

If you want new speakers, check these out from Kicker. They are designed for motorcycles and boats.

Speaker are 6"...the upgrade would make them 6.5.

When I was young tad, I had an S-10 pickup that I had Kicker Contenders, that were made to set behind a truck seat. They had mucho bass, and you could really feel it, considering the speakers were only about 6 inches from your backside!!

I'll bet you are driving your wife crazy with your excitement. I know I would be. Mine was about to kill me over wanting to trade back the guns. I'm pretty sure she WOULD kill me if she found out about the speakers.:qpnmt:

My version of a late night. Up after my bedtime making homemade pizza for the family. If I do say so myself, they're gooood.

Pizza was as I said: goooood.

Didn't get to bed until nearly 4pm due to some family stuff. Yes, I'm tired. Distracting myself by ordering some ammo online. Went to a gun show today hoping to score some cheap ammo. Wow was I wrong!! Their prices were actually higher than local stores! I pointed that out to them, and they didn't care a bit. Wouldn't come down a dime off their marked price. They had a huge stock. I asked them if it bothered them packing all this up without selling hardly any, and they said, "Not at all."

The only thing I bought was some 'Damsel In Defense' items for my wife and nieces (at another vendor). Bought all 3 a stun gun, pepper spray, and a kubiton. All are in girly colors to disguise them. The stun gun doubles as a LED flashlight that's pretty darn bright. When it stuns, it's supposed to be 24 million volts. Sounds high. Anyhow, that was my day.

I went to Ammo Seek and found a company that was selling their ammo at a very competitive price. The caveat was I had to pay shipping. I ordered several boxes so the cost was less than what local tax would be. Their price on Speer Gold Dot .45 ACP (flying ash tray) was at least $15 a box lower on boxes of 50 rounds at $25. Around here it's $22/box for boxes of 20. Unbelievable.

Dang. I'm having a lot of heart palpitations tonight. And I've only had one can of mtn dew, too. It's gonna be a long night.

Palpitations have finally let up. Relieved for that. Have had them on and off for the last 20 years. Docs tell me that they are nothing more than an inconvenience.

Feelin puny tonight. Freezing, coughing and sniffling. Think I'll turn in early.

Well have a good nights rest, And don't let the bed bug's bite.....
I said that to my Granddaughter years ago when she was very young, She started to scream jumped out of her bed and refused to go back in.... The worst screaming was from my Wife asking what in world did say to her......:AGGHH::AGGHH:
