As I mentioned in that chat room this morning, I spent most of the day riding twisty roads. The roadsmith conversion rides very good.Much like a luxury car, but handles like a sports car.I like this very much.I have the auxiliary fuel tank and tried it today. The pump is a small pump and transfers the fuel slow. At 1st I thought I must have not got it wired correctly and it was not working, but with a little time it transferred the fuel fine.

I have the adjustable preload and it is going to be a great feature, as I can stiffen up the ride to allow for extra weight , or better cornering if I choose. I will need to raise my handle bars now for a better fit for me, and also go to a taller windshield. I seem to sit higher than I did when it was 2 wheels.I may also decide to change springs up front to progressive, just to give it a little more lift up front and take a little dive out of the front, will decide that as time goes on.When we started off this morning it was 48 degrees , warmed up to 60.I am very pleased with the roadsmith conversion.

I just got my Roadsmith a month ago. Am still tweaking it to my liking.

I have tried the aux fuel tank twice. Takes about 15 minutes to transfer the fuel on mine. It matches the time that the previous owner said it takes. No issues there.

I find that the V stream special edition windshield I have is a tad too short for my liking, as I am also raised on the seat due to needing seat pads to cushion my butt. I was looking thru my old trike's windshield, and I liked that as it kept the wind and wind noise off me better. I just don't remember the brand... :(

As to the 48-60 range weather. I dug deep into my wallet and purchased a Gerbing jacket liner and installed the wires. Tried it out on a chilly morning, or as chilly as it can get here in Florida so far, and it works GREAT. Am taking a 5 hour one way ride next week for lunch, leaving around 6am, then returning after lunch. That will be a perfect time to see if my purchase was spot on...LOL

Hope you enjoy your Roadsmith as much as I have this last month.... :Coffee:

My wife has a gerbings jacket liner and likes it a lot. That makes riding in the colder temps much better for me, when she is happy. One thing I wish was better is the brakes. Now part of this is I need to raise the foot brake lever one notch as it said in the directions to see if that helps. It seems I have to apply a lot of pressure to the pedal to get it to stop.I have full brake pedal, there is no air in the lines, but it feels like I need a brake booster to make it power brakes. I am not sure how well it will stop a loaded trailer.Maybe raising the pedal will help. This is probably my biggest concern on this conversion.

Yea, I noticed the difference in the foot brake. My CSC was linked front and back. The RS is not.
A harder push for sure.... Foot angle for me is just fine.

I have not read anyone putting on a booster. Not sure what the outcome would be.

The rear brakes have to seat in before they will stop properly. It will also help if you purchased a brake pedal cover that enlarges the surface area; makes it much better. Did you get the heavy duty sway bar? It really helps in the twisties.

When I mentioned the brake booster,I was thinking power brakes on a car,I don't know of any for a bike.Sometimes I am not very clear when I post things .It sounds good to me,but nobody else has a clue what I am saying.Thats the hillbillie coming out in me.

That's true - it takes a couple rides for the pads to seat properly. You can "break" them in by doing a series of 50-60mph hard stops a couple times to heat them up, that helps this procedure. ThumbUp
