I'm replacing the header on my 2015 triglide with a decatted one. It has 4k miles. Do I need to replace the exhaust gaskets too? I've heard it both ways.

Thanks all *Not trying to be cheap, just didn't want to do unnecessary work. I'm good at doing things the hard way and wanted to make sure I wasn't doing it that way this time too. Have not picked up the trike supplement yet. They don't have different torque spes in there than the touring manual shows do they?
Looking to replace the header on my 14 triglide, what brand of decatted header did you buy? Jim
I would for sure. Sure beats doing the job twice if one leaks.I'm replacing the header on my 2015 triglide with a decatted one. It has 4k miles. Do I need to replace the exhaust gaskets too? I've heard it both ways.
Amen to the freezer trick. Works much better than trying to force same temperature. Thanks all

I can't think of any possible reason *not* to replace any gasket that had been torqued down even once.
Some gaskets I'll roll the dice on, I've used the same outer primary gasket several times, also the same derby gasket multiple times. Now exhaust, I'll replace them each and every time, too much of a PIA to pull the exhaust because I got cheap and lazy and it leaked.
