Do You Miss You TPMS?

I'll be the first to admit I'm lacking on checking my PSI on my three tires since my '12 GL1800 has a Roadsmith added.
I know there are after market systems that can be checked through your cell phone.

Do you miss your OEM TPMS system even with the problems that came with it?

Not even the slightest. I guess if I pick up a nail or screw then the tire goes down I'll wish I hade the TPMS back but for now I check the tire pressure weekly and that seems to be good enough.:xzqxz::xzqxz:

My TPMS is a (brand name) Tire Guard. Looks like THIS, but was obtained elsewhere. I had a similar 2 wheel model from several years ago and it had problems, but that seems to have been resolved as my current 3 wheel model works great. Shop around. I'm not promoting this vendor, just showing you what it looks like. Just replace current valve caps with TPMS sensors and you're good to go. TPMS caps are so light, tire balance is not affected.

I find them very useful and accurate. My current "kit" has been in use almost 3 years and I'm very satisfied. Good luck with whatever you choose to do. ThumbUp

I had them on my 2 trikes about 5 years ago and were very un-satisfied. The sensor came apart. Like you said the newer ones are better I might try it again.

I don't think I have nitrogen in my Roadsmith tires but have had them on my cages and for years never had to add any.

In a word YES. I miss it. 1 more safety device to have.
But as others have said. I do check my tires weekly.
It might be nice to have advanced warning of a possible issue when riding, if a tire was getting low.

I don't miss it, it wasn't accurate enough for me to miss. A couple times while my bike was 2 wheels, it would show I had a low tire. When I checked there was no low tires.

I've gotten into the habit of checking my pressure the night before riding. While on a trip I don't worry about it. My rear tires have never needed air in the 30,000 miles since triking it. The front only about a pound every 3 weeks.

Man I hope you have better luck than I did with them. My lasted all of four weeks before I had trouble with the receiver. Their customer service is well, terrible.

I do not miss it that much. It was nice to have but then i still checked them before every ride. Only takes a couple minutes to do. My wife is slow, very slow so I have time to check everything before she shows up to ride. That is a fact.
