Well,

I need to take LaNore (my 2015 FLRT) in for a scheduled service. But, the service guy, John at Lake Erie HD where I purchased her, told me they were back-logged for 3 to 4 weeks.....:(:(:(

Obviously this is NOT the time of year I am going to give up my ride for that amount of time. I wanted to just ride it and schedule an appointment, but John pretty much told me to check back later....was a bit RUDE about it on the call....bad day I guess????

I next went to LEHD's website to schedule a service appointment and did; but, the website stated that someone would call on it - haven't in about week as of yet.....

Do I need to go down there and plead? Am I shopping for another Dealer? I have been with Elyria HD (LE HDs fore-runner and LEHD for a number of years and bought several bike from them; and, I am a little taken back by the situation.

(Guess I needed to vent a little)

If it was me I would either do the service myself (except the 1k service) or take it somewhere else. A month is way too long a wait for routine maintenance service.

Speak to someone higher up in the food chain at your Dealer, [Or soon to be EX] Sometimes service managers get overwhelmed this time of year, And forget customer Service... .

No doubt this is a busy time of year for HD service departments. I called my dealer for a service appointment for things that don't stop me from riding and I got an appointment for exactly one week later. I was fine with that.

Just when I was at my last straw with my local HD, they went and hired a new Service Mgr who seems to be doing a pretty good job so far. I even dropped by 2 weeks ago (middle of spring fever) with a problem and they dropped everything to fix it while I waited.

Didn't you say you worked in Akron? Go to Rubber City by Chapel Hill right off the xway. It IS the busy season, but other dealers will at least schedule it and communicate. I know someone that worked at LEHD, and I'm not impressed with that place.

Yah Guys, I guess I need to go have a "Talk" with someone down at LEHD and see what's up. Just had to rant a little, I guess...

(EDIT)

OK, got a follow-up request
Since The Rubber was recommended...made me think...
What HD Dealers around Cleveland - Akron have a Trike Dyne?  And, do you recommend that Dealer?
(Might as well line up an alternate....)

I get a loaner - free - for any scheduled service. My bike has been in for the 10K service and I need rotors which will take 5 days to get - I don't care - I've got a Street Glide for a loaner. :) I made that deal with my dealer when I told them I was going to their competitor who did offer a loaner and my choice of oils. They also help me any time they can - probably because I've spent over $200,000 with them on bikes and parts and service. I also usually get a better trade in then I would get from another dealer.
Yes, sometimes I get a little annoyed with them (like they never answer the phone), but in the long run I'm happy with them.

The one thing that bums me out the most is when you do make an appointment for a certain day, they don't get around to it for a day or two later. :AGGHH: :AGGHH:

Rants usually don't do any good, but they do make you feel a little better don't they? :)

sounds like most of the HD dealers in our area unless they think you want to buy a bike .:D

They have a trike dyno at Adventure in Dover, the "sister" of Rubber City. I THINK you can take it to Rubber City and they will get it to Adventure. Other than that, I don't know of any others close by. Adventure is actually close enough to me so I never really looked much farther. For you, it's about 20 minutes South of Akron straight down 77. Anyway, yes, I'd recommend them. I know their dyno guys are pretty good.

Adventure HD in Dover has a trike dyno. Owned by the same guy that owns Rubber City. They claim to "always put the customer first". Take a look.

OK, Looks like Century in Medina will do it Sunday while I wait.......
Springman

But how long will you have to wait?? 1 hour, 4 hours, 8 hours? :D :D :D

That happened to me at my car dealer. They told me I could wait for the service. I figured OK maybe an hour or two. Ended up 4-1/2 hours. Half a day shot. Now I always ask "About how long a wait will it be". = go get lunch or something. I took my Zumo 660 with and entered all my vacation destinations. ThumbUp

Southeast has a dyno for trikes and a diner inside the shop where you can wait if need be.

Yah, I had thought about them. But, I have had two trike people tell me they are not great.....I have had a few positive comments on Adventure..

What has been your experience with Southeast?

Springman

None. I just knew they had a dyno for trikes.I use western reserve in Mentor for service and parts, been very happy with them.

I understand. It's strange; but, I have to say that while on two wheels I heard good things about some of the HD dealers in and around Cleveland. But now, while on three wheels....well, not so much.....

I was wondering if the dealers around Cleveland give the same effort in their service of trikes or what?

I am not sure why?

But, I guess, if I have to seek out another Dealer, I would be better off to seek the best I can get to.....

UPDATE:

Well, I sort of took Hedgie57's suggestion after thinking about it and took my Freewheeler to Southeast HD.

I am very pleased with there work and would recommend them for HD trike service.

I also discussed with them the possibility of tuning my trike after the install of the TTS-100 Cam and de-catted head-pipe swap - they were game too on that as well.

While I am still planning having Roeders do it, it never hurts to have a backup plan:):):)
