Getting my MPA tire replaced today with a BT-45. I had the MPA mounted Reverse, Should the BT -45 go that way or mounted forward. I got 16000 on the MPA, A lot of tread left but cupped and started to wiggle at highway speed, Hope its the tire, We will see

Cupping is not the tire's fault but other influences too many to list. I'm currently running BT45 and have run the last two in forward rotation with no problem. I want the correct water dispersal.

Last 2 front tires, BT45's with beads, reverse direction, No issues! Rather wet or Dry roads.

I haven't changed front tires yet but when I do (pretty soon) I'm going to go with the BT45 and run it forward.
I've read all the posts and it doesn't seem to matter so why run it backward?
That's just me, a plain regular dull old Texas man with bugs on his teeth from riding with a big grin.

2005 Wing 2012 Road Smith conversion. I always run BT 45 (rear) on the front with Ride On protection for balance and flat protection. Works for me. I mount in forward rotation. The rear BT45 tire has .2 more tread than the BT45 front tire.

I agree with you on the Ride-On for balance and flats! Works just fine for me. But I suppose many of us forget to check the inflation on a regular basis - I sure do. So I invested in Ride-On's small screw-on tire pressure gauges, one for each tire. If a tire should drop 4 pounds, an LED will start flashing - bright, you can't miss it. Just an additional aid to increasing your tire's life.

Screw on tire pressure gauges, I wasn't aware, I'll be checking that out, thanks. I'm a believer in the Ride On stuff. It ain't cheap, but I have no tire problems and that's worth a lot. There's also a trick getting the product from the tube into the tire, I suspect you already know about that.

At this time RideOn can not be used with the Honda TPMS since Honda decided not to protect the sensors!!!! I've used RideOn for years. Good product.
There are many posts on other sights, started many "moons" ago that told of the reasons to mount these rear tires in reverse rotation when mounted on the front. Even a couple tire manufacturers recommended reverse rotation.
Don't see or hear much about it any more.
Mine is mounted reverse rotation. Ridden in rain several times with no issues.

I run the BT45 in forward position, mainly due to water dispersion issues. Just made sense to me. I ride mostly in the mountains and it has performed well. I have Centramatics, Race Tech springs, and Kuryakyn fork brace.

Konrad, which ones did you order, there are several choices. Guess I need to review some comments as mentioned by the last poster. Have you had a problem??? So frikkin difficult to use the search engine on these forums. Maybe I should qualify that, difficult for me.

i had the first generation of LED Smartcaps but changing the batteries required returning them to the factory. I complained about that (after about 18 months of use) and they offered me the 2d generation of Smartcaps. (Batteries are user-replacable.) They come in sets of two (bikes) or four (cars). BUT if you contact Mark M. Farkhan at mfarkhan@ride-on.com he may sell you only three for your trike. I'm very happy with mine - a quick glance every day lets me know my tires are OK.epper:

Cupping more than likely due to air pressure. I recommend 41# and check it regularly they are real sensitive to air pressure.
Mounting forward or backward. I run mine backward,but would not argue that point. RIDE SAFE

Always kept it at 41 psi and checked it regular, cupping came on with no warning, don't really know what caused it, was a lot of tread left on the tire. I am trying the BT-45 mounted forward will see how it works.
