My 2014 Black Tri-Glide has been delivered. Now the leaning process. Stage 1 done. V&H fuelpak tuner. Bought Fulsac ceramic headers to put on. The Anarchy wheels are super nice, sets the bike off perfect. One disturbing thing was I bought a new tri-glide with 11 miles on it and when it was delivered, it says 117 miles. I assume that they had to road test and etc because of the new wheels and tires and what not, but over a 100 miles, really?

I'd question those 106 miles.

You had a tuner put on .... and a good mechanic would TWEAK & RIDE many times to get things right .... unless they had a dyno to run it on.

Good luck with your new trike. It killed me to keep my rpms below 3K for the first 500 miles .... and then 3500 rpm until 750 miles .... but I did it. Now with 3K miles on Roxy she runs like a top and is getting 38 mpg consistantly. I had a service at 1000 miles and another at 2500 miles (I like good break-in flushes). Now I will service the engine and primary every 5K and the tranny every 10K.

Running Syn3 in engine, Formula+ in Primary, and BelRay 85W-140 severe gear in tranny. Very happy with this combo. Runs great and shifts perfectly.

Now you are ready to have some fun.!!! I wouldn't worry about the 100 miles... when I did my stage 4 it took about a 150 miles to get it dialed in and running right. Would sure like to see some photos of your new Toy!.. Have fun this weekend and keep us updated on your new adventures...

I should be more clear on the Fuelpak FP3. I installed that in the trike after it was deleivered. A piece cake to install. Just left it installed to be in the Auto tune all of the time. And the Fulsac headers will be next but going to wait until the break end period is over.

Oh more important details. The Harley shop delivered the trike yesterday afternoon. The Harley shop is 50 miles away from me. So once the delivery guy left, realized that there was no license plate. So I couldn't ride until I received that. So I took the time of learning the trike, controls and etc. Then put my hiway pegs on. Yep, bright and early they called and did a opps thing. So another guy had to drive over with all of my stuff that was taken off plus the plates. Another long day of waiting. NOW! it is ready for a ride tomorrow morning, FINALLY LOL LOL .

got in a 130 miles today and I can say I'm impressed. Went thru a lot of twisties and getting use to the no lean thing. The roughness wasn't all as bad as I thought from first impression of a trial ride. It was a little but nothing I would be concerned about. Just depends what roads you traveled. But going again later and do it all over until I get this puppy broken in. :) Have to get use to this no start while in gear. LOL LOL

Hold clutch and apply brake .... and it will start in gear. MUST do both. :D

Thanks Bob. I think I did it once by accident I think. But stopped for fuel and thought " crap now have to find neutral" I am fiddling around trying to get it in the right spot. So I thought "well its a new safety thing, got to get use to it" But now I KNOW LOL LOL Thanks.

Took the little woman out for her first ride on the trike. Yep, she liked it too, except for the grab bars. So I took them off and she was more comfortable. She said it bothered the back of her legs. She would like the passenger floor boards raised higher. But from what I see, there is not much adjustment. She is ok with it after I got the bars off tho. The thing that she noticed right away was coming to a stop and the fear of loosing our balance. So now we are more comfortable riding. And thats a good thing.

You should have three positions for the height on the passenger boards. But most of them are set in the top at the factory. There are ways like lifted arms for the boards, or the adjustable arm type from either Harley or Kuryakyn. You can find the Kury's on EBay or Amazon. The price is around $160. The reason I would use the adjustable is it gives you two levels at one time & has (I think ) three settings.
To find out where the arm is set, take the top bolt out of the arm mount & it will slide up & down.

HD P/N 50789-99B I have read that IT DOES fit the trike even though they say it does not.

My wife likes having the grab bars .... especially on bumpy roads. I use them when moving the trike around in the garage and driveway. I would be at a disadvantage without them.

took off the grab bars for a while . then she wanted them back.so hang on to them.
I bought the adjustable pegs and she really likes them. they didnt fit. (08 m/t conversion) had to do a bunch of work on the rear foot board mounts but got it done.( the m/t fenders are wider by 2 inches than a tri glide)

enjoy the ride !

Sorry about the added mileage, Trent and I stopped by and used it for a little rider training for the ladies. :) It is (was) a nice trike!!
How much longer will your riding season last this year?
Hope you enjoy yours as much as we do, all is still good with our 11. I think next one will be used. Seems more and more around with low mileage. So my "new" 14 or 15 trike will be around 2017 or 18.

LOL LOL Yeah, thats probably what happen. The salesman explained to me that the mileage on the trike was 80 miles. I don't remember if I looked or not when we started it up that day. But when I signed the contract it says 11 miles. The salesman says it was the finance dept that had not up dated the info on the computer. Then because of the up grades I had done, wheels and etc. They had ran it out on the road about 4 times. Having trouble getting the front wheel balance. So was it BS? Maybe.
So far I really like the bike. Has enough power for me that I don't think I will ever be redoing the cams and etc.
Our riding season will last into Sept and early Oct. Sometimes even into Nov. The rain is the big problem here on the Coast. I don't ride in the rain if I don't have too.

Other options:

Thicker soled riding boots for her. (Good riding boots are essential for safety and protection from exhaust heat.)
Modify the floor board so that it has a higher/thicker pad.

Wife did not like the grab bars either said the back of her thighs hit them. I just bent them down a little now all is well.

A better view. They had the center caps in a box so the delivery guy put them on later.

There is a whole world out there to explore on that new trike! It was amazing how many little 'hole in the wall' diners we found. Get a local map, draw a circle 100 miles in diameter around your house and start exploring. Great way to find new places and get used to that new scoot. Ride it in good health.

Harley has a promotion in our area for September York Plant Open House and Test Rides ... free t-shirt and entry to a $500 prize drawing. We had to visit 16 Dealers on a hard card list of local Dealers and get them stamped. We also got $10 off each Dealer visited t-shirts. We have our 16 and found some really great Dealers .... and put over 3K on our trike in 8 weeks. Lot's of new T-shirts plus other stuff. EVERY Dealer is different. We also found some great places to eat!!!
