I've gotten pretty good at following Bandit and his U Turns. That might be what made him dizzy a few weeks ago in WV. The first leg of the trip is in the GPS, 506 miles. We should make it to the hotel by 5:00 and Meet Bandit & Sherry Thursday morning for breakfast. Hopefully the storms will clear out as we head east.

Don't forget, if you are close, you are more than Welcome to come to lunch in Keene with us, then ride to the GGI.
Providing you can stop a certain person from making too many U-Turns! LOL

Well, KWPutt and Rosey, it goes like this, we are planning on heading out from the diner around 7:30am, it should be a 6 hour trip, however we are gonna stop in Newburg, NY and get gas, then if KWPutt wants to cross the street to Orange County Choppers to check it out we will do that. I plan on being at GGI by 2:00 to 3:00pm. Looks like lunch will be out for us Rosy, we wont be anywhere near Keene, but dinner thats another story.

Forget the frayed wire I was walking. That snapped days ago. I'm falling and hoping the parachute works now (in the form of coil arrival that I will check up on at 2pm, after getting back home on ferry from CT).

Wooooooosssshhhhhhhh! And just like that, the parachute opens. Got the call 2 min after above post that trike is ready. So as soon as I storm the beach at Normandy, I mean Port Jeff, I can go get my trailer and pick it up.
So, it looks like riding to rally. And the heavy rains tomorrow should give it the power wash I won't have time for.
Hey, and you MD riders be careful out there if leaving in rain today.

It just started to sprinkle here. That's good news. The earlier it starts the sooner it will be over. Bozo I thought maybe you would be coming on the VW. Drive safe. We are planning on getting there by 4:00 on Friday. Going RT 8 all the way to Rt 100. That's the plan so but can change at any min. At this house. Radar shows coming through the MD and PA area now ... Nothing coming behind it. An gas in Conn down to $3.72 for reg.

Rosy, Bandit says we're meeting at 7 for breakfast and leaving by 7:30. Guess I better order toast to go.
The ride from here looks to be cool and dry in the morning, sunny and upper 70's by the time we get to Allentown PA tomorrow afternoon. Perfect start for a nice vacation.

Trust me John, that option went through my mind. If I could have gotten the vw running, I might have trailered it up there. Couldn't be started. Did a compression check. 3 cylinders are 90psi, one is 60. Not great, but should have started. I'll get it one of these days (or find someone nearby who works on old vw's).

So I get trike back yesterday. Today, weatherman here says its the heaviest rain he has seen in 10 yrs. So, of course, I want to take trike to work.
Good news is that trike ran great in torrential rain and through heavy flooding. I got to the highway and decided so many cars stalled out and sections closed to turn around and take the day off. Had to avoid some deep flooding. Got home fine.
What, you thought this story would end bad?

North fork not bad yet. Heaviest rain in Mid Suffolk County. Over 1 foot of water recorded at LI Islip airport as of an hour ago. Still heavy. Just texting with my supervisor. He is stuck in traffic on LIE and nowhere near office.

Rain stopped here - rest of today should be OK, going to clear tonite. Rain in this area was 4.9 inches to 5.8, depending on who you believe. I was up a bit during the nite and it was really coming down.

Looks like next on/off rain not until Sunday - for the trip home... Bummer.

Hooked the trailer up to the trike, packed some good alcohol and chairs for the evening fire pit chat sessions. Later today gotta finish packing the trailer, seems the high in West Dover, VT on Friday is 63, better pack the heated gear for Sherry just in case.

Grey Ghost just called. We are good to go. Now raining 2" per hour with 11 MPH wind. I have a weather station with rain gage. This will be over by Thursday afternoon . Praise The Lord

Storms are gone in NJ this afternoon. Nice partly cloudy day... Booked to stay at Big Bears Lodge on Friday and Saturday nights. Just booked at Brattleboro for Thursday night so we can do more touring. See you this weekend!

First 50 or so miles this morning were the dry miles, next 300 was light rain, fog and 62 degrees. The last 150 was all sunshine and upper 70's. Checked in the hotel in Allentown at 3:45, had supper with Bandit & Sherry, back to the hotel and had a $100 hot shower. Trying to watch the news and read TT new post, eyelids aren't cooperating. Bandit tells me we'll make GGI by tomorrow afternoon, maybe.ThumbUp
