Hey Bobby you should meet up with us in Kerrville for the Meet and Greet. It's going to be either the first or second weekend of November.

keep an eye on the thread in other rallies and rides forum.

I run gas charged shocks in my trike and I have found that with my wife and myself on board the wheels will bottom on the body when I go over a speed bump
I am thinking of Gabrial air shocks to raise my suspention slightly under load
Anyone use this setup ? How does it ride ? want to raise it just enough so things dont bottom out in a bump or pothole I dont want the 135x50x15 tires to hit the body !

235x50x15 tires
Trike is fine if it is only me rideing....but my wife weights 200 (wont see this post LOL ) and no matter how slow I go a speed bump is going to bottom the trike on it !
I can use a cigerette lighter air pump to get the suspention right

That is a solution also but it's lot of work.......and somewhat dangerous.:AGGHH:

Putting air shocks on it is just a band aid fix and is a very dangerous. What happens when you blow a air line and the body hits the tire and makes you wreck? Paying a shop a couple hundred dollars to fix it right might cost less than a funeral.

That won't happen. I have ridden the trike with no air in the shocks and the torsion bars still hold the fenders off of the tires, even over bumps. If what you are saying is true I don't think air shocks would even be available to the public.

Yours might not but the original posters does.

Gas charged shocks and air shocks are two completely things. Air shocks raise or lower the vehicle depending on the air pressure in the system. Think of a tire, the more air pressure the harder the tire gets, lower the air pressure the softer it gets, air shocks function the same way. I have air shocks on the trike and have had air shocks on a number of vehicles over the years and have been happy with their performance. My trike even has air forks so I can adjust the ride in the front also. Let the air out and they still function but don't give you a very good ride.

Did you even read the what original posters wrote?

He can run them if he wants to but I would fix it right and not put anyone in danger.

I read his post, he asked if anyone had air shocks on their trike and how they performed. I responded. Simple as that. Air shocks do have an oil reservoir so they won't collapse if the air escapes. I think they probably designed them that way on purpose, kind of a safety feature.ThumbUp
