So Al has taken some input from a pretty awesome Texan to try and solve a problem that most HD Tri Glide owners run into. The outrageous price of HD Tri Glide Saddle Bags.......we keep hearing the complaint and Al thinks he may have come up with a solution for it but before we go gungho crazy here (yes this is his daughter trying to keep him in line), we were hoping to try and figure out how you felt about them by answering some questions:
1) Do you currently own saddle bags for your Tri Glide? - If not, why?

2) Do you have an old pair of saddle bags laying around from a bike that you can't use anymore?

3) Would you purchase saddle bags if they didn't have the HD logo on them but where 50% less than a saddle bag with HD's logo on them?

4) What would be a reasonable price for the saddle bags and the way to mount them (without having to drill holes in your trike)?

Below is kind of what we were thinking.....any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

1. No. Don't think there are worth the price for the minimal storage they seem to offer. Don't want to drill holes or mount them on my pristine paint. I had something similar for my Ultra. It also held a water bottle. Took them off after 3 months and gave them away.

2. No.

3. No I wouldn't purchase them for the reasons listed above.

4. I guess half price.

Hope your idea works out for you.

1) No. Price and drilling holes. 2) No 3) Very possible. 4) About half the price of the harley ones.

I spoke with Al a couple days ago about these & I want to try 1 for the left side.
Let me know when you have them ready & a price on them!!!
1) No, too expensive
2) No
3) Yes
4) What you folks think is fair.

1. Definitely yes. Had then on my 2012 and now on my 2014 They are the most convenient things I have. I love them.

2. No, and if I did they wouldn't fit in that area of the TG.

3. Absolutely - I don't care if there is any name on it for that matter. If they were well made and cheap and said "GoldWing" I'd still buy them. :D

4. I would guess about $150-$200 and I don't mind drilling holes since there are dozens of holes already in the body. And it's piece of mind that they won't fall off.

I still want to see your application. Some day I'm going to get out your way and will stop in and see. Good luck. Maybe next TG. ThumbUp:)

Okay Bob, why just one on the left ? Is that some kind of Ohio thing. Why not one on the right side too ?

Ya get the tricycle fixed ??

No, more an Arizona thing. I originally had the left water bottle holder that mounted to the saddle bag guard from my old 2-wheeler. Left side has less heat.
Then you gave me the idea to cut it down & mount it on the left side of the TG by using the SEE THROUGH BRAZ mounting system. So I got the adhesive deal from Alan & Dan while we were there in Eureka Springs. When I got home though I couldn't find the bottle holder & Alan had come up with the bags idea which looks good to me.
I also have a short water bottle that I think will fit in one of the bags along with some other smaller "stuff".
I just ordered the one bag for the left side to see how that works out, which I think it will. The left side is cooler for the water & I can reach back there with my left (none throttle) hand.
I'll get the right bag from Alan later.
Sorry for the long explanation!!!

Yea, I also think the bags are going to be a good alternative to the more expensive HD saddle bags.
To answer your other question the the trike perfomed good the rest of the trip after Pig Trail replaced & retorqued the compensater screw/bolt.

1. Yes, just waiting for them to arrive
2. No
3. Yes
4. about 1/2 the price of the HD's

Darn, I've already paid for them and special orders are not returnable. I would have waited until yours were available. I do have your kit for mounting the HD's though. I didn't want to drill.

Alright! They are now available to purchase! We are still working on a version of saddle bags without the HD logo (these will be cheaper yet).
